My last working date is 22nd May in a big 4 firm, I have 11 months of workex as of Jul 2019 and 21 months as of today. I currently have IMT and XIMB converted. I'm unsure of joining them(undecided) this year. As CAP IIMs/IIT results are not out yet, and there is no clarity as to whether I would convert a college, should i revoke my resignation and hold my job? One adv is that if i manage to stay till mid Aug i would complete 24 months . Any idea if any new IIM/ IIT- D/Kgp/ MDI would start earlier than July 25? In case i revoke and convert a college later, i need to serve a 2 months notice again or ask for buy back ( which is not certain). Im unable to decide here. Please advice. GEM 96.91 10/12/Grad - 95/94.20/79.20(NIT) Currently waitlisted in IIM Amr and rejected in IIM V. I would prefer joining a good college this year than a retake

Why do people join colleges like GIM, TAPMI , KJ ? Are they really worthwhile ,since MBA might be ones last degree? For an average candidate would wasting one year for prep ,would be more preferred than joining these colleges? Just curious !!! Since all start prep by aiming IIMs and later compromise with these ones. Is it lack of character or ones practical approach to the present scenario?

Need help.I've given CAT 2018 and 2019. The first time, I've Started preparing and started taking the mocks, I was depressed for every mock. I used to get 60-70 percentiles too at times. On an avg I used to get this figures: SIMCATs 2018 Varc : 50-60%le Lrdi : 60-80%le Quant: 85-95%le I've given up mentally on CAT. As I saw myself going no where. So, on the exam day, that's not a depressed me or ignorant me, I was under-confident, panick-stricken. Almost sure I'll not even score 20+ in verbal section. It was my worst performance, no sense whatsoever, just the panick. But I'm surprised when the key is released. VARC: 86%le LRDI: 96%le Quant: 81%le OA: 90.xx%le I was happy in a way for such massive improvement in marks of VARC, LRDI. And at the same time frustrated to see myself score very bad at quants. CAT 2019 Prep: SIMCATs 2019:( Avg) VARC: 60-70%le LRDI: 75-90%le QUANT: 90-97%le I felt the same vibes. It's like CAT is sucking in all my energy and confidence. I was sleepless due to mock scores. Even though somewhere I felt that mocks are being different from actual CAT for some reason, I couldn't justify myself and at the end I've given up again. Yet again. Went to the CAT exam hall full of panic and under confidence, I knew that I'm coming out a loser again. Tried keeping myself calm but didn't work. CAT 2019 Finals: VARC: 91.4%le LRDI: 95.9%le Quant: 89.8%le. OA: 95.1%le. I'm depressed as hell. I knew I did okayish in LRDI. But I attempted bare 19 Questions in VARC. With my accuracy levels seen in SIMCATs, this is miracle yet again. But the Quant, I lost myself yet again. I've genuinely started to feel that mocks aren't really reflecting CAT. I admit, my panic is one of the reasons of failure in QA. But this panic was created beacuse of the poor scores I've got in mocks( VARC, LRDI). Is it true that VARC mocks are too deviant from actual CAT? I've personally checked my accuracy levels jumping from 40% to 85%. I just wanted to know the best way to practice VARC. Same goes with LRDI as well, I felt main CAT is far easier than SIMCAT LRDI. Why this massive difference? Is it just me or every one feels the same?
Guys! A few questions about MBA journey, especially placements.Please share your insights 1. Are freshers at a huge disadvantage at summers? I've heard that usually companies begin recruiting process by the end of 1st term so how much profile can really be solidified in such short term even with good CGPA, competitions, projects etc. 2. Do companies before placements (both summers and finals) reveal the job profile and role being offered or is it only at the time of joining? Do I get to choose which dept or division I wish to intern in? Or be placed at? 3. This may sound silly, but how many have crystal clear vision of what job they want? I mean I am heavily interested in M&A but really skeptical if those roles are offered. Beyond that I am pretty even for both consulting and core finance. In theory, both are lucrative. When I talk with guys in this domain, both feels challenging and fun. So how to decide when I don't have firsthand work experience in these fields?
