Any one has last year data of student sellected, Comosite scores, Waiting List movement etc for NITIE Mumbai? Please Help
Fellow puys and purls, I am here once again, asking for your help/suggestions/opinions as I have no fellow friends/family members who are/were CAT aspirants and have experience regarding the same to help me with this...So asking for some help from the PG family here...
The thing is....I was considering to go for CAT20 after not performing that well in CAT19 (Only 90.27%ile OA with sectionals - VARC/LRDI/QA : 78.65/75.76/96.59).... (this was my 1st prepared attempt..and I know I lacked in my preparation for VARC & LRDI and focussed much more on QA this time)
and being a GEM 2019 passout(this was my drop year) with 10th/12th/BE-I.T. percentages : 92/77.23/71.94 (8.10 CGPI - Mumbai University) and 10,12 from Maharashtra state board...
For this year, I'm done with my calls from IMT G, TAPMI, GIM, KJ, FORE.
But I have also got a job offer now from Capgemini... but the location is Pune (I'm from Mumbai).
So, I had certain queries..
1. Is it worth going for CAT20 considering the current scenario for GEMs?
2. Looking at my Acads, do I have any chance at the tier 1 institutes? And what would be required of me in CAT20 to be worthy enough of getting to these tier 1 institutes in the next season? (I'm looking here at atleast new IIMs, MDI, NITIE if not old IIMs or in the worst case scenario atleast upto baby IIMs/IITs or say IMT G)
3. (Many fellow GEMs here who are currently working can please shed some light on this one) How difficult it is for one to prepare for CAT while working in an IT MNC and staying away from home? (for this poor soul here has never stayed away from home during his undergrad or anything else...)
4. What is the real salary that comes in-hand for these so called CTCs offered of around 10-12LPA(at KJ, TAPMI, GIM) / 15-20LPA (IMT and upwards till new IIMs) / 20-25+LPA(old IIMs and others like FMS,XLRI,MDI,NITIE)
^^^(just so as to gain a reference as to set a bar for satisfaction of my own for the life ahead)

Does it make sense to go for XUB interview, despite the venue being close to my house when I already have NMIMS Core MBA Converted and SIBM and SCMHRD WL around 150 ?

CAT newbeies/ repeaters aiming TOP 10 small advice
With 9 months left to cat and most interviews done the time is right to start preparing .
Learn your basics from first if you have <95 in CAT
Join coaching only if your basics are terrible else you can mange with self study and hard work.
JOIN 2-3 test series from top institutes
Advise against joining others as their difficulty and standards are unpredictable.
After mock re solve everything without time constraint and if still not getting it see the solutions.
STAY GROUNDED . I've personally seen people with 99+ in mock series getting 97.XX in final CAT.
Working people Its very challenging to compete with the ones in college or taking break year.. So be ready to put in every minute possible. Ateast 2 hours everyday and 5 hours on saturdy and sunday and holidays. Keep outings to minimum.
Advice for Freshers and working people
You can justify / make up for a gap year but you cannot justify mediocre percentile. So decide accordingly.

The situation is very very competitive .But its doable for you guys!!.

For Work ex (approx 24 months) and awesome profiles (with 10th- 90+ 12th-90+ Grad-80+ IITS,NITS,CA etc ) you can expect at 98.5+
For Gender (F) and Academic diversity same at 98.5+ you get top calls.

NOW I cant stress this enough dont think about cutoffs too much as finally your peak potential you cant predict today.
Think about working hard and getting your best score.

Keep a healthy highly comeptitive peer group close.
YOULL help each other in unimaginable ways and bring yourselves to ABC level.

Few days back, I was excited to go to Bangalore after a long time for my IIM-S and VGSOM interview. With a COVID-19 scare in Bangalore, there's a feeling persisting that if anything happens, it will cut short my interview season for worse. 😓
Xub-BM Delhi March 3/2020 10/12/civil engineering/work ex/CAT: *73/73/68/30 months/98.02* Interview timing was 11.30, I reached at 11.36 (confusion in metro, how to use metro card), the process was already started. I was drenched in sweat when the moderators saw me. They asked me to join 3pm panel.. I came again at 2.50 (felt a little sick due to travel and 4 hour waiting and all), candidates for different courses were there. There was only one bm candidate other than me, all others had their Percentiles in lower 90s, higher 80s. I listened to them, and sat on the back seat (felt like college). The process started exactly at 3.00pm *Topic: should politics be taken as a profession?* *Gd* I was really nervous initially, and spoke 5th or 6th. Put a valid point, and backed out. There were 9 candidates, and at least 6-7 were trying to be leaders, not giving quality content, but saying we should talk about this and that. I made 6 entries with for and against both points, talked about house of cards/pension to MLA/MP/checks and balances/participation of youth/iimK sm course/investment of time. Overall, I felt I did best among them. *Wat* this girl beside me was shaking the table with her writing, it was difficult to write but i didn't say anything. Wrote 100-120 words, started from the quote of Narendra modi, and then incorporated the gd points in that. I think I did well there as well. *PI* I was first in the panel. There were 2 males M1(late 30s), M2(late 60s, he seemed like virus from 3 idiots), and 1 female F (early 40s) M1: So, why were you late? :: Explained and laughed about it a bit 3-4 minutes:: F: so you are from Lucknow.. ::Yes ma'am:: M1: what's your CAT Percentile? ::98.02 sir:: M1: what calls do you have? ::Took some time to recall all 5 of them, then told:: F: so, why'd you taught in school, after leaving your engineering job? ::Told:: M1: tell bernaullie's theoram :: Took some time, then told that I'm not able to put it into words, they said it's okay:: F: your acads are so low (in 70s) and you are teaching the kids. Why so? ::Told how i have improved myself from my school years:: F: can you justify your low academic scores? ::Told that initially I came from a town, and I had difficulty adjusting in school, but I caught it all up in the end:: F: which classes do you teach? ::Told 9th/11th/12th, english:: F: why you're doing experiments on these children? :: Told that I've improved:: F: but spoken English is different from writing/comprehension. ::Told that xat/cat/iift/snap are proof of my improvement in the subject. I scored more than 98%ile in English in each of them (they seemed satisfied):: F: so you are preparing only english? ::Told no I'm working on many other things, for English, I just like to read a lot:: M3: what are you currently reading? ::A feast for crows by gorge rr martin:: M3: did you finish it? :: I'm in Midway (told them what's happening in book right now, he didn't seem to comprehend, but seemed satisfied) :: M3: how much you know from your engineering days? ::I think I know enough to apply it:: M3: you know udl? ::Told:: M3: draw sfd and bmd of udl on a simply supported beam. ::Took 1 minute (I'd forgotten it), then drew it correctly:: M3: one last question from me, how'd you direct your path in a corporate world after working as a site engineer, and as a teacher? :: Told leading the team/hectic timelines/client management/cpm/pert/detail orientation from site engineering and communication/public speaking/not afraid of stage/patience from teaching job (they all seemed satisfied):: M1: can you tell 5 states that surround UP? ::Told 3, said I'm not able to recall others:: F: okay, now you may go. ::Greeted them humbly with a smile, and left:: . . . . I think I'm going to convert it.
Now, it is not safe to travel IIM-Lucknow (Noida campus), especially where students will come from different states. It's scary for students and especially for the parents. Management has to think about this issue.
Amid of the interview season , the coronavirus fear is getting high. People who are travelling please take preventive measure- masks, sanitizer, etc with your self . Avoid unnecessary travel and physical contact with people . Be safe and prepare for interviews well. All the Best guys! 🤞🏼
I was here exactly a month ago putting up a post about the start of my interview season. Here's what has transpired since then:
1. Coronavirus is much more dangerous than it was on Feb 4. World didn't know much about it back then. It's a topic dominating the .... groups and social circles now. Threat is real. Stay Safe.
2. Indian Cricket Team had their a***s handed over to them by the kiwis. Complete and utter surrender.
3. I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people, as is the case when you participate in multiple interview processes.
4. It's been exhausting. I remember falling asleep in a cab after my third interview in 3 cities in 3 days and waking up unable to remember which city was I in. Years from now, these are the small things that make you smile. The struggles and the rewards it reaps.
5. I resigned :p
6. IIT D made me realize that GEMs can get diversity points too.
7. Oh and yeah: SIBM P, SCMHRD and NMIMS are all in the bag now.
8. Something very personal was finalized that dwarfed everything else in comparison. Will probably mention it in the end-of-the-season goodbye post. Yup, enough of MBA prep for me in this lifetime.
Will post the link to my detailed interview blogs soon. MICA, IIT D and MDI interviews are yet to happen. Having resigned, and enjoying a fairly light work schedule prior to that, I have had a lot of time on my hands but have been dedicating it to MDI prep. DM's always open to the folks here on PG.

How exactly are WAT graded ? Heard that they mostly grade between 5-7 if it was average
Is anyone here cancelling their plans to go to delhi for interview due to corona virus ? I have one on 6th and I'm supposed to be leaving tomorrow. Even I don't want to go but it's xlri hrm interview. Any opinion guys ?
