R.I.P GEMs, You will be remembered. The only sane GEMs giving CAT 2020 will be those who :

1. Have acads ~ 9/9/8 and are capable of getting 99+ percentile.

2. Have acads ~ 9/8/6 and are capable of getting 99.7+ percentile.

Just had a little chat with a friend regarding CMAT. His centre was somewhere in new mumbai and he said that there were no security checks and some people were also cheating using mobile phones. As many of you know GK is very crucial part of this exam and the time available is also too much. I have seriously started doubting the conduct of examination by NTA may it be IIFT or JEE or CMAT. Even if someone complains to NTA they say nothing was captured in CCTV. But they will not consider the simple fact that a single CCTV can't capture the activities of 100+ students sitting in a single room and again seperated by some cabin kind of barrier. Completely lost faith in indian examination system today.

Consider the final selection weightage, IIT-rookee has 60% CAT, 10% WAT, 25% PI, and 5% WE. Considering my profile- 97.85%ile/93/91/66.1/13 months GEM, I have good chances. So, IIT-R is my fall back option in case things don't exactly go my way. I'm inclined towards fin, and will mix in some analytics.

IIT-R is a decent fall back option instead of giving CAT 2020 as a GEM.
Poll check
Go for CAT 2020, if IIT-R is the only one you convert, even if you are GEM.

did IIM ranchi change anyones interview date if there is a clash or issue?... ive sent 5 mails to them with proof there is no response from their end... what needs to be done now??

What is the first date when CAP will take place ? This is because we can have some idea what could be the topics in WAT, from people who will have earlier CAP interviews. Best of luck to all of you.

Guys and girls I’d like to tell you all a story. So I am a GEM and my CAT %le in 99+ and my 10th and 12th is above90s Today when I went to the time GDPI workshop in Bangalore, I had a mock interview with one of the old alumni of IIM Indore and he was a part of the 2011 batch of iim Indore and also a panellist in the actual interview process of IIM I. He looks at my marks and is pretty surprised at how I didn’t get a shortlist despite having a decent CAT score and good academics. Then he himself admitted that at the time of joining IIM Indore he himself was very skeptical about the college as it wasn’t up to the mark of the other IIMs at that time and he told me about how scared he was going in to the IIM. He had a 97 percentile with 87/89 in 10th and 12th respectively. Golden words: He told me that when he joint IIM I It was just like the new IIMs now and he was very skeptical .Even his placements were considered very mediocre ,but now IIM I is in a different league. On asking him whether there is a possibility of the same with joining a new IIM or a baby IIM , he told me it’s almost certain and he gave me this example Consider NITIE (which is 50+ years old)for example , IIM K and IIM I have equalled NITIE in 10 to 15 years time (since it’s inception) , now the new IIMs are catching up and in the future might even overtake K/I if they grow at the rate they are growing. (His exact words) So think about it , how knows with all the atrocities towards GEMs IIM trichy or Ranchi night very well overtake K/I in 5 to 8 years time and you will have the pride in stating you are an alumni of these institutes.Always hedge your bets :)
