Chances of call from K, FMS?
Does IIM B normalise across universities?(For WAT PI shortlist). My University doesn't give more than 80% to anyone. Topper has around 75-77 percentage. On the other side, some colleges in South gives more than 90%.

cat 19 =177 score; 10th 95; 12th 84; ug 80%; fresher 2017 pass out..GEM category . will .FMS,IIM L,I,K call me.. dont know much insights about mba system
If we go by the top 300 ranks in each slot, it seems, VARC of Slot 1 is just marginally higher; DILR of slot 2 is certainly tougher; QA of Slot 1 is tougher.
Scores of Below 300 ranks in each of the sections of Slot 1 is really confusing. It seems that their perfromance across sections is not uniform. Some scored very high in one section but significantly fallen in other sections. It means, their is a lot of confusion when it comes to people who scored less than 140.

I am making a basic post with some information I gathered from watching the Normalisation video made by Patrick. Link to that will be below.
BASIC FACTS ABOUT NORMALISATION:
1. Made by sections and not overall: This means a similar VARC, a tougher level LRDI and an easier QA, as happened in CAT 2019 between Slot 2 and Slot 1, can potentially cause no difference at all at many levels.
2. Amount of Normalisation: The highest normalisation occurs for people at the top percentiles. It can go up or down at that level depending on which slot you are in and which slot was easier. Highest normalisation was in LRDI last year, 3.XX marks up for one and down for the other. Overall highest normalisation was seen for 100%ilers who were topping in both QA and LRDI, and their total normalisation was +/- 6.XX.
3. *How did my friend get a +3 at 95%ile*: If the person getting a 95 gets a 99.9 in the section which sees huge difference in level of paper across the two slots, he or she can see a +/- of a significant number but as seen in CAT 18, that number does not exceed the worth of one question by much.
4. *What will be my normalised score, here are my marks X/Y/Z? Thanks* : We cannot predict it. We have nowhere near enough data to do so. Only the CAT authorities have that data. Best to wait it out.
My two cents are that "balanced" scores (not heavy in any one section) around 99 would not see much normalisation either way. LRDI heavy Slot 2 scores will scale up, QA heavy scores will scale down, VARC for the life of me I do not know and cannot imagine.
