Hi I am currently studying in a CAP IIM 1st year. Using a throwaway account and not able to disclose Institute name due to privacy reasons. I am here to help you if you want to know about CAP IIMs and other IIMs, I have many friends studying in these institutues. Below are the info I have about each of them and how I would rank them.
1. Trichy - Going great. Completed placements well on time. Can give serious competition to Shillong in future. Good for Consulting and Finance. Good campus. And gets higher ranking because of better campus life
2. Ranchi - Just like Trichy,again a good institute. Placements completed on time. Packages are good. Lower Decile of the batch does struggle during placments. Good for all specializations. Only drawback being temporary campus.
3. Udaipur - Very underrated Institute. I think Udaipur was the first to complete the placements. The Instutitute is a magnet for companies. If you want to become an entrepreneur, choose this over other CAP IIMs. You can even be exempt from Summer Intenship if you plan to do entrepreneurship. Placement report not inflated. Audited. Beautiful campus
4. Rohtak - have recently started improving a lot. Placements are good and completed on time even after significant increase in batch. Great new campus. Gets good set of recruiters. My friend told me even Indus Valley Partners come to recruit. Placement reports are audited and not inflated.
5. Kashipur and Raipur - Can't rank one above another. Both are similar. Kashipur has a bit of locational disadvantage but still placements are good and completed on time. Beautiful campus. Raipur gets good recruiters for Marketing (some of them visit only Raipur) and is a well connected city. But Institute is a bit stricter than others about grooming and actual placements are slightly inflated due to more people having work ex and more marketing/sales based placements. Reports are not audited and actual figures are slightly less than Rohtak and Udaipur. Raipur still is the best for foreign exchange (if you get PPO) . And no, there is no danger at all from naxals because it is in northern part of Chattisgarh.
Would share a bit more tips and more info on Baby IIMs after a few days. Now internship is going on so I will try to post all info before results (As far as I know it will be out as soon as next week). Do tag me in posts if you need any help.
