Im working as a electronics hardware engg in mysore. Im planning to take CAT 2006 and am really serious abt it. But I have a problem. I wont waste ur time- ll cut to the chase..
Which centre to take?
In mysore to the best of my knowledge there is only 1 CAT centre (TIME). I dont know much about tht centre and how many ppl have cleared CAT from here. I have heard ppl saying tht u should choose a centre where u are neither too good nor too bad and where there are many ppl like u. in this mysore centre all students are college going ppl and im working. Moreover I donno abt the faculty of tht centre and I donno anyone who can tell me abt it- I came to mysore only 4 months before. Im a much faculty dependent kinda person and am dependent on the classes taken. So I really care for the support from the faculty.
I can get a lot of CAT coaching centres in bangalore but it is 138km from here and will take a 3.5X2=7 hours journey(minimum) for me. So it could be a tiring for me (anyway I dont care abt it). But sometimes during project submission times etc I may have to work on Sundays (though very rarely) then I wont b able to manage the classes since I may need the full Sunday to travel to and fro bangalore. But in bangalore there are a lot of CAT centres and choice of an institution is easier.
So I really need help from u ppl. Im sure tht in this ocean there will b a lot of ppl who have faced a same kinda situations. Pls help me on the following
- Should I go to the CAT centre in mysore
- Should I go to the bangalore CAT centres? If so where should I go (please keep in mind tht im much dependent on classes)
- Pls share with me watever u ppl know abt the mysore CAT centre
Waiting for ur suggestions,
Hasta la vista,
Deepak
ha ha ha....
hey deepak,
i've done my engineering inmysore, kinda know what u're talking about.
as for the time centre at mysore, its relatively new (bout 2 yrs now max). dont quite know bout the faculty, but doubt its gonna be great... as for ur option of going to bangalore, well, lots of my friends did do it... was ok for them, but was hard just before internals and stuf, so keep that in mind cuz maybe when its crunch time for ur projects, u might miss a few sundays, (but its not the end of the world if u miss a few classes). if u're taking up bangalore, see if u can find a couple of friends/study partners to join alongwith u, should make the journey better atleast... also, u'll have a moral obligation not to quit.
word of caution, if u're the lazy type (or even slightly lazy type) dont opt for bangalore, cuz towards the end, the travelling will really get to u...
all for u to decide...

Travelling every week to Blore will get to u sooner or later, added to that 7.5 hrs per week is sheer wastage, u can as well spend that time studying/working/sleeping. U r right abt the quality of crowd in Mysore though, most of the blokes are students who are there to just pass time but u do have some serious blokes from Infy too. If you can get a decent study group going, it shudnt be so bad after all.
Bottom Line :- Travelling for 7+ hrs to attend 6 hrs of classes every week is insane. Stick to Mysore TIME.
better to stick to Mysore TIME dude...
trying to recover cat from a catastrophe,:grab:
hasta la vista,
deepak
I was working with infy in blore and attending career forum classes in blore on weekends. You might wanna check out if career forum has a weekend only class running.

How s the faculty..

HI all,
I want to take cat 2012 plz suggest me some coaching class in mysore as its hard to travel to banglore everyweek.....
I want to join as soon as possible
hey PUYS,
I am sandeep Asok, presently in B'lore.I've resolved myself to prepare seriously for CAT 2013.Considering my lenient, complacent and moreover slothful nature i think i should join an institute in blore as a weekend regular student. I'd like to join a class of less strength, good faculty and better attention.
I've found out some options and the reviews that i have heard are as...
1,Byju's classes-Good review but class size is large, individual attention not possible,no proper study
materials.
2.Time classes-The pioneers in CAT coaching, but having some issues as a split up..
3.VistaMind-run be ex-TIME gurus, relatively a startup so will be more focussed.
I know its eventually the personal work that paysoff but Institute to guide you really matters according to you.
So pls all the experienced PUYS give me a an apt solution..I prefer a centre in INDIRA NAGAR Or KORAMANGALA.IF you can list out another institute apart from the 3 listed above i'd be pleased to consider.
Thankyou and have a nice day.
