since I have converted 2 good colleges, I think this may reflect
positive on my application)

Experience :- 4 Countries for work (3 in Africa - Tanzania (1.5 years),

tech fest (We set the stage, made the rule, judged the winner etc)
d) Assisted to arrange for funding for college

space etc in return)

That's it
unclassified :- I have this unique achievement of having 100% attendance record for 7
years in a row, in my school. (Not sure if this will help, but I feel
that it may show that I am a regular person)
Future Plan :- I
enjoy consulting and will target a career progression in the
same/similar field. Will target to shift to strategy consulting as well
(Mckinsey, BCG, Bain etc. ).
Details of Major projects :-
a) Individual work :- Worked with a major telecom company in
Tanzania to launch a new mobile e-commerce platform. It was a 1 year
long project and I was alone representing my company. I worked as part
of Revenue assurance team and was responsible to make sure that there
will be no revenue leakage or fraud during and after the launch. I used
to frequently interact with the FD and MD of the company for project
updates and risks identified. (This is the project for which I got the
EY award for Individual excellence and client award for 'Special
recognition')
b) Team work :- Worked as a team-member, team
of 6 people, on a major telecom firm in Philippines, the company needed
assistance in upgrading to a new charging platform. It was a
technically challenging project. We had to make sure, that calls, sms,
data, other services etc will be charged correctly and users won't be
able to fool the system, plus we had to cross check all the
configurations, cross-validate multiple reports for consistency and
accuracy etc. I ,along with the entire team, got the other 'EY team
excellence award' for this assignment. We used to frequently assist each
other a lot by sharing work lot and brain storming together on
challenges)
(P.S :- I have done about 10 projects (all client facing) with 7 different companies in the last 4 years )
(P.S 2 :- My promotion is due in a few month and may be a Senior Consultant by Sep'16)

We did miss out on the season closing speech this time around, so here goes the opening speech for the oncoming admissions cycle along with perspective on the trend of the year gone by.
Last year, R1 saw more admits and far generous scholarships as compared to R2, amongst all past seasons. So, the saying that "The Early Bird catches the worm" is so true!
I would stress that all applicants be ready by JULY END maximum with their GMAT scores and hit the early rounds, especially for the US schools. You know your strengths, and equally important is knowing your weaknesses. This way, you will be able to realistically position yourself to schools where your strengths will overpower your weak areas and you will be a strong contender for admits and scholarships!

Hello everyone!
ISB is out with dates for Cycle 1 (Oct 15, 2016) and Cycle 2 (Jan 15, 2017) and those targeting October deadline should start warming up now. Give at-least 1 month to your essays and recommendation(s) and plan your GMAT exam accordingly if you haven't given yet. Although each year, lot of candidates start working on their ISB applications in last 10-15 days, that strategy is not recommended.
A lot of difference can be made if you work on your essays/recommendation minutely making sure you come out with strong leadership/teamwork/ownership stories and most importantly differentiate yourself if you belong to an over-represented profile.
Start early. Sort your doubts. Get in.

I have given one of the GMAT prep mocks and have scored 670 in it (Quant: 50; Verbal: 31). In verbal sections got a total of 10 answers incorrect with 7 incorrect in Sentence Correction, 2 and 1 incorrect in RCs and CRs respectively. I had prepared for CAT last year so one of the probable reasons behind such a pattern could be that CAT doesnt test students on sentence correction. As of now I have completed the OG and currently I am practicing and learning concepts from Aristotle Sentence Correction Book. I have planned to give GMAT in July with an aim to get a score of around 740-760. Request the experts to suggest the right strategy and right material to work on my verbal section!

I am an aspirant for MS in CS . I have got acceptance from Boston University for the Master of Science degree program in Computer Science with Specialization in Data Centric Computing and Stony brook University for the Master of Science degree program in Computer Science.I am facing difficultly in finalizing from which university should i pursue MS because both universities have similar job prospects after MS (information on blogs), although Boston University reputation is better than Stony brook but stony brook CS department is also strong and at the end the ROI is the biggest factor because Boston's fees is twice that of stony brook.
