10th - 76%
12th - 86%

Post Graduation: PGDM - Fashion Merchandising - Pearl Academy, Delhi
Work Experience: 6 Years - with start ups - mainly with dot coms
The programs I would like to choose from are: MBA - Marketing/Entrepreneurship/General
Post MBA career goals - work for about 2 years and eventually start my own project.
Could you advice on the selection of above, along with some colleges to look at.
Anyone can please help me here
I want to do an MBA either of 1 or 2 year from INDIA and that too from IIM A or B or C or ISB .
I am in dilemma that whether i should go for CAT 2015 or GMAT(I know ISB through GMAT only) .
My queries:
1)As i having exact 5 years of experience will it be a hindrance for me during placement if i go for 2 year PGP course at IIM as much crowd is fresh graduates.
2)If i go for 1 year then i think my experience is less and my profile is not that much impressive.(10-83%,12-73% and BE-74%). I am from IT background and mainly in development part using JAVA. Having not that much to say regarding extra curricular except few like having NCC certificate holder , won few awards in my current organisation.GMAT i can score 720+
Can someone guide me what will be suitable for me considering the above mentioned info?
My score in 800score has been consistently around 600-650. Does that mean same score will be reflected in my GMAT. or is it that GMAT ques are generally little lees tough? please let me know... GMAT exam soon... very tensed. I have also registered for GMAT , but I am unable to find the free tests that are available. Can anyone plz guide how to access them
Thankyou

We have received numerous queries on how important is a recommendation from a school alum in the MBA admissions process. In general, recommendations from alums can be very powerful under following circumstances:
1) You have directly reported to the alumnus or you have worked under him or her for a particular project or you have in-directly reported to the alumnus
2) The alumnus has closely observed you in a professional setting
Finally, if the above conditions don't apply to you there is another way out. If an alumnus knows you really well (personally or professionally) and he or she is willing to write you a recommendation, then you can submit this recommendation as an additional one (on top of the 2 or 3 required recommendations)
Needless to say, the above assumes that you have made a strong positive impression on the alumnus otherwise this strategy can backfire :)
Hope this helps! Good luck with the MBA applications process.

Why do you get rejected from the B-Schools
Why do you get rejected from the B-Schools, is a question that needs to be answered much before applying to your dream B-Schools. If you know the reason that might cause you the rejection, you can take precautionary methods to avoid it. However it is not completely possible to eliminate the chances of getting rejected. Below are a few factors that General Education has identified:
· GMAT Score: GMAT score could be one reason that you get rejected from the B-Schools. Try to identify the B-Schools that have a GMAT rage which is similar to yours. A higher GMAT score will always be an added advantage.
· MBA Application Essays: Try to stick to the questions and answer them in a logical manner. Do not try to fill in things which are not relevant to your profile.
· Resume: Resume plays a big role in the MBA Admission procedure. Try to keep it concise and remember it is not a job that you are applying for.
· Work Experience: Work experience is a mandate while you are applying for the MBA programs. You should be able to show a definite growth in your career. This will help the admission committee to identify your leadership skills and management skills.
· Low GPA: Low GPA could also be one reason for the rejection. If you have a low GPA, try to identify the schools which are not too strict about your GPA. You can also cover it up by a high GMAT score, strong work experience, and good application essays.
· Extracurricular activities: Lack of extracurricular activities could also be a reason for not giving you an admission
· Interview: Prepare well for your interviews and be prepared to answer the questions related to your application essays and work experience. Never cook up stories in the essays which will make it impossible for you to justify.
· Right B-School: Analyze your profile and try identifying the right B-Schools for you to apply. It does not matter if you have high GMAT score, good application essays or strong profile. If you do not fit into the profile of the B-School, your chances are very less.
These are a few factors that need to be analyzed before applying to the B-Schools. Identify the right B-Schools and put in the maximum effort to submit the best application essays possible.
Best,
Akshat

I will be giving GMAT tomorrow. My target Bschools are IIMB(EPGP),IIMC(PGPEX),IIML(IPMX),ISB (PGP) and McComb's School of Biz-,Austin. I also wish to apply in a few other abroad universities but they are of lesser priority than the above list.Should I select the above 5 programmes ? or is it advisable to select abroad programmes since Indian Universites may not require the official GMAT score to be sent to them through PUE. Please help me !! Its urgent. @ISB.Admissions @iiml_ipmx @EPGP_IIMB @Llewellyn75 @MansieDewanConsulting
