Hi,
I am 25/ Female/ IT.
X- 86.4 | XII - 82.6 | BEIT from Mumbai University - 69.9
Gmat 700 Q49 V36 IR3 AWA5
Work ex -3 years as an software developer( analyst )in a japanese investment bank. I have worked on quite a number of projects for the back office data management and related services. Interacted with people across regions (London, Tokyo, New York)
I had decent extra-curriculars in engg college. Sports (i have intra college certis for basketball, throwball, relay. however, i am not a trained sportsperson)+ part of Aesthetics committee + head of a few events.
I tried to give gmat again and got a miserable score, so i cancelled it. I will be moving on with 700. My questions are
1. I will be pursuing MBA in either general management or a tech-based MBA. Which colleges in US can i apply to maximise my chances? Also, I will need education loans to study. So, if you can tell me of the value-for-money colleges, i will be grateful.
2. Generally, what is the number of colleges that people to?
3. Are MS and MBA equivalent on some level? MS seems to be easier on the pocket.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had posted my profile in one of the posts below, am posting it again for your reference:
"I'm 30, female and live and work in Delhi. I currently work as a Senior Associate in a Real Estate Private Equity fund (4 years).
Prior to this I was into Real Estate Consulting with an International Property Consultant (2.6 years). I started my career with a KPO and was into financial analysis involving CMBS (2 years).
I have about 9 years of work ex.
Qualifications: BA Economics (Hons) Delhi University and a CFA charter."
I did some research and based on that, I'm thinking of applying to the following schools:
Darden, Kelly, Marshall, Mendoza, Urbana Champaign & Krannert.
What kind of GMAT score would I need to make it to any of these. Scholarship is important for me. I'm looking at a finance/consulting post MBA role. Do you think there is a better fit for me apart from these given my educational background and experience. Again, cost is definitely a factor for me.
Thanks.

I have been working with Govt sector for past 5 years now. The work is basically related to interaction with various govt departments and getting the schemes implemented.
What would be the GMAT score I should be targeting at. How much time is to be needed for essays/LORs etc.
Also a part of new venture in SEO, internet marketing.
Thanks
Thank you for taking out your time.
I am 25, from India, female.
Hold a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from a Top-10 institute in India (National Institute of Technology, Warangal)
GPA - 7.3 on a scale of 10 / School creds - 10th 89%, 12th 83% /
GMAT - in a week - expected score 730-740 / Work experience - 4 years - 1 year FMCG supply chain, 3 years advertising / Extracurriculars - Leadership position in a few clubs during college - did significant work in quiz club.
My story -
Was campus recruited to India's top employer - a renowned FMCG whose products touch the lives of nearly every Indian. Alas, while the idea of it was nice, working in a factory and making soap didn't work out for me.
So after a year of supply chain work, I moved out, and decided to carve a career in something that had fascinated me since college - advertising. Been 3 years since; Have had a great run, quick promotions, good appraisals, exciting brands, worked under and with some great creative leaders. Have deep dived into multiple categories - done new launches, delivered end-to-end campaigns. Have a couple of creative awards under my belt too. Currently working with a Japanese ad giant, Dentsu Aegis Network in the position as a senior copywriter working on Airtel and Honda.
Now, while advertising is a fantastic career path, I want to take my skill set to the next level. I want to shape up my career as a marketeer, vis-a-vis being responsible solely for creative output. I am as quantitatively inclined as I am creatively bent, and an MBA with a concentration in brand management is a leap I believe is aligned with my career goals.
Thank you for taking out your time and reading this far. I request a profile evaluation and suggestion of B-Schools that fit my profile.
Scholarship will be nice. Geography doesn't matter.
Have a fabulous day! Thanks.

Starting my career as an officer in the bank, I have worked as branch manager in a branch in metro city.
Did my B.E. in computers with 67% and was average in school with 66% and 60% in 10th and 12th respectively. Hi all. I'm in my final year of engineering and got placed yesterday. So now I have full year to prepare for GMAT.
What is the first step? From where do I start? Shall I join some weekend GMAT coaching in Allahabad?
Hello, I came across this group and felt it ideal to discuss my concerns here, so I hope anyone with an opinion will share it.

No work experience, planning on taking the GMAT, but I have been told work experience is an important factor. Should I appear for the GMAT? Decisive factors :-
1. No work experience, if I score 700+, will I still not be considered to top B-schools?
2. Choice of country is critical. I would prefer settling in the same country, therefore work visa/job opportunities matter. I have heard quite a few arguments in the favor of countries like Singapore, Japan etc.
If you've stuck with me till this, I'm grateful and equally embarrassed about such a long discourse. Please share anything that helped shape your choice whatsoever.
Thank you!
