I'm in a very panicked situation as i'm writing this. I have my GMAT day after tomorrow, i.e., 31st October 2014 and i still don't have a prepared list of the 5 schools to which i'll be sending my scores.
In brief, I'm a female CA with almost 3.5 years of experience and a regular BCom (Hons) degree from DU. I currently work in MIS FP&A profile in HCL Technologies Ltd and prior to this, have worked with Kobe Steel Group (a Japanese steel giant) in Finance. Shortly, I'll be joining a different industry in MIS FP&A profile only. My goal from an MBA is to gain entrepreneurial and management skills that would help me move towards more of a general management role or maybe consider doing something of my own. In my practice GMATs so far i'm getting scores in the range of 660 to 700.
When i initially consulted a few people, i got the following names - ISB, IIM ABCL, XLRI and SPJIMR. ISB happens to be my preference. I am leaning more towards a one-year course but a good two-years course is also a feasible option. Also, I'm willing to consider an international MBA too. The names that have cropped up so far are NUS, Tuck, etc.
As a confession, i'm from a purely technical finance background so my knowledge about admission procedures of any school except ISB is next to none. I'd like to start my MBA in 2015.
Please kindly guide me as to what schools I should choose on my test day. I will choose ISB but about the other four choices i'm confused. Request you to please help!
I don't know how is my total score calculated.. verbal screwed me completely...on many internet sites with graph scoring i can see myself around 630-640 but can anyone explain how i got 590 with AWA-6, IR-7, Q-47, V-27. What can be done now? i was planning to apply for india based colleges like Great lakes..XIMB, SPJAIN, etc. what are my chances? should i apply? do i stand a chance for call?? pls pls pls... somebody help.. so confused and depressed... :( #lost

I know it's quite a low score to apply in any of the reputed colleges in US. But still would like to take an advice from the experts here.
I have heard of the Suffolk University, Boston and Sunny Buffalo University where I can still give a shot and are good ones. Please provide your views on these universities as to how are these universities in terms of placements?
Any other colleges in India or US which I can apply for?
I am okay with re-taking the GMAT in Dec-14 or Jan-15 but not sure how can I improve on my Verbal scores.
I am really confused as how to proceed. Any guidance on the above post is really appreciated.!!

Hello everyone. I am planning to appear for GMAT exams. Recently i have been giving some MOCK CAT exams and my score is between 50-70 percentile. It has hardly stayed constant. I am not so good at verbal and need some tips on improvement. Also what would be good online coaching/ joining tutions. I have zero work experience. I will be joining Accenture in January. So what is would be ideal time for me to appear for GMAT?
Hi, I had appeared for GMAT on Nov-03 and received a score of 700 (Q48 V38 IR6).
I have a work experience of 5 yrs in IT Consultancy and presently working in US at a client location.
I am targetting ISB hyderabad and SP Jain Global MBA programs 2015 batch.
Please suggest should I apply in R2 for these colleges or should I wait for next year as the deadline is Nov 30 and I have not even started working on my applications and essays. Please also let me know whether these colleges allow online interviews as I will be in US at the time of interview ( if my profile is shortlisted). Thanks.
I had taken the GMAT on 21st Sept.. with a score of 720 ( Q49 V40 IR 6 AWA 4.5). Quite satisfied with my score except for the AWA.
I will complete 4 year of experience as a Design Engineer (Shipbuilding) by the time of the admissions. I am targetting ISB Hyderabad, SP Jain GMBA and PGPM.
I am mainly interested in studying either in India, or in UAE (personal reasons).
Was wondering if anyone could give me an insight on how my profile stacks up for these courses. I have a good co-curricular record. (Sports Captain in school, College Team captain during Graduation, Member of student council in School and college) and a decent academic record as well (X 89.4 XII 79.4 B.E. 6.91/10)
The only glitch is, I have a break between me completing my engineering, and me being employed. I completed my degree in Nov 2010 and started working in July 2011. Not sure what kind of impact that would have.
So anyway, I was hoping if anyone could help me in comprehending the situation better.
Anyone with any suggestions or advice regarding my approach, or the colleges I should consider, is welcome 😁 ( and will be rewarded with a pot of gold :p)
