I want to apply for mba in 2014, but I'm dicey about the chances of admissions by applying to the round 3
Suggestions on the way forward and the universities i could get into with this profile will be greatly helpful.
dear consultants,
i want to join in mba after my b.tech
Depends on your work X. if you don't have any then it is better to go for a masters. MBA will only benefit you after you have had some experience to draw from. Thats why most of the good schools needs more than a few years of experience. ( not a consultant BTW) ๐

HiI would like to do MBA in a foreign country, but don't want to spend a large amount as fee.
So up to how many percentage shall I get fee reduction according to my GMAT score? I have herd that there is 100% fee reduction in Germany according to the score. Is it true? Should I have to pay a considerable amount as fee even if they give me a scholarship in the US?
Thanks in advance...
hi
abhiraamnair
what is ur gmat score ?
in which u want to do MBA ?
Have a question here and would be great if I can get some reply here from the seasoned consultants. I am in the process if applying to select B-Schools abroad. While writing the essays, I could find the word limits even for goals essay significantly towards the higher side lets say 600-700. If at all I complete the same in say 400-450 words would it be considered a negative? Personally, I don't think so as long as the clarity in conveying the message is there even with fewer words.
But, may be I am a bit naive to claim this. would need some help here. @mba-help @ivyctor2010 @MansieDewanConsulting @ISBmantra.com
thanks in advance.

Currently working with Northern trust as a Senior Analyst in Banking Operation for over 3.5 years. Have not given Gmat till now but will be giving. Can anybody please advise me how should I start preparing to get in to a good MBA college outside India.

Please provide your valuable feedback on this :
I am 2012 passout (Btech) with 78% Grads, XII 85%, Xth 91.4%.
I am working right now in HCL..and till now i have 1.5 yrs of work-exp.
My job is damn hectic. So m planning to quit my job in near future (March/April 2014) and prepare for CAT once again. (ie, CAT 2014)
I was already enrolled in coaching in the year 2013. However, I want to go for only IIM's and NOTHING less than that.
For this year (2013), I am expecting calls from SCMHRD, NMIMS and yeah..a good cat percentile (but not sure whether i'd get IIM's or not)
My only concern is whether quitting the job just for CAT prep will create a hindrance in IIM's ???
Any past examples are appreciated.
PS: If i quit my job, start preparing for CFA along with CAT and clear level 1 of CFA before CAT, then will it compensate for quittting a job??

Hi everyone,
I wanted to do my MBA straight after my BTECH but after some research learnt that some work experience is must to get into a good college and also to get the most out of your MBA.so decided to go for some work exp.
working in TCS since sept 2012
10(CBSE) 87%
12(CBSE) 82%
btech(compt sci) 67%
preparing for GMAT
preferred country: US/Canada
hobbies: Photograph,Reading , and i like to workout at the gym daily.
first of all i want to know if there are any colleges having January(2015) batch as i want to go for the MBA as soon as possible as im not very happy with my current job as i'm not able to deliver what im capable of.The main reason for my MBA is also that i want to change the industry.
I want to go into marketing/advertisement sector.
So i think its better to go for the MBA now becuase if i stay longer in IT sector it would be difficult to change the domain then.
I know my Btech score is weak point in my profile but im confident of getting a good GMAT score (700+).
Can you please suggest some good colleges in US/Canada that i should be targeting?
by the time i go for the MBA ill be having 2+ years work ex.
thanks in advance :)

Dear consultants,
I have been considering the HKU MBA and their essay prompt stumps me a bit. Could you share your opinion on this. Here is how it reads:
Please provide below a statement explaining why you are interested in doing this programme, why you are suitable for it and the value of the MBA programme to your future career. Here's how i interpret this:
1. Please provide below a statement explaining why you are interested in doing this programme i.e. Why HKU MBA
2. value of the MBA programme to your future career. ie. why MBA .. and now the dilemma..
3. why you are suitable for it.. does this mean why MBA now or what value would I add to the HKU class?
