Supply Chain Management Summit 2022

MET Institute of Post Graduate Diploma in Management organized, ‘A Supply Chain Management Summit’ under the aegis of ‘MET Aapurti Niti’. The Summit was held on 10th December 2022.

The theme of the event was ‘Amritkaal: Opportunities and Challenges in India and its Impact on Supply Chain Management’ to deliberate on the opportunities and challenges that lie in the Indian and Global business market and how SCM has its impact on the business landscape.

The Summit began with the lighting of the lamp, which was followed by felicitating the esteemed guests, their captivating speeches and insightful panel discussions.

The Objective of the summit was to understand the most important concepts of Supply Chain Management, career opportunities, the role
technology plays, and how it is important for industries of developing and developed economies.

The Summit featured two Panel Discussions that were moderated by Mr. Mangesh Pawar. The topic for the first panel discussion was regarding the upcoming trends in the SCM and in terms of e-commerce and the growing importance of Supply Chain Management in Indian business. The distinguished guest speakers for this panel were Pankaj Raut,VP - SCM, Boat, Hiren Naik, Sourcing Digital & Technology Manager, General Mills India, Achlesh Vashtist, International Courier Business, International Courier Business, Specialist, Rajeev Kumar, Senior Vice President - Operations Boston Ivy Healthcare India, MedikaBazaar, Manish Gahlaut COO, Boston Ivy, Healthcare India, MedikaBazaar.

The topic for the second panel was ‘Supply Chain Management in Early Ages and Today in Indian Business’. The distinguished guest speakers for this panel were Kiran Paranjpe, Senior Corporate Consultant in Operation and Distribution, Girish Bajpai, Ex-VP, Reliance Industries, SCM, Prashant Kashikar, MD, Mica Industries, Raj Devkar MD, Manish Fasteners & Vikram Industries.

Some important learnings from the summit were: Operations management and supply chain management, role of technology, how a CEO of the company needs to understand and should be an expert of analytics and Supply Chain System, brief about the term called Reverse Logistic, opportunities in Supply Chain Management, and detailed understanding of term “Money saved is Money Warned”.

The Supply Change Management Summit concluded with rewarding conversations between the speakers, facilitator and the audience.

Overall, it was a great learning experience for the budding managers at MET.
