THEN USE THAT WORK EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR MBA OR EXECUTIVE MBA...AN INVESTMENT BANKER CAN EASILY BAG A PACKAGE OF OVER 30 LAKHS IN INDIA....

plz mark a website called sbi.co.in
then a notification will appear around late january 2013....however plz visist that site every 3-4 days ....and check the recruitment section....
there is one paper for PO ....200 marks....you have to qualify in every section....
then you have to clear the overall cutoff out of 200...there would be 5 sections....paper is online....sections are....
english....maths.....reasoning....computer....general awareness....
If you clear written ...you'll be called for interview....clear interview get the job....!

As for me....I qualified written of SBI assistant....recently...

It is YOUR EXTREME GOOD LUCK....that a large number of vacancies would be announced this year...otherwise there are hardly 20-30 seats.....this time it would be around 1000-1200....the study material needs to be brought from flipkart.....the only thing you need to be bothered about is
computer = learn from a book called computer awareness by Arihant publishers...also learn Excel word powerpoint 2003...a super excellent website which will cover everything for these topics = baycongroup.com....
For general awareness = buy current affairs magaine of last 4-5 months......Also...learn something about the banking industry.....Nishit sinha = Money and banking (BSC publication) will cover every aspect of banking....
If you can't find current affairs of last 4-5 months....google "civil services mentor"....this magazine is freely available in e-book format....archives for this magazine exist for the last 1 year....it is published monthly.....
Another great website...bankersadda.com......go to this website ...there are something called GK capsules here...like sept Gk capsule...nov gk capsule....download them...PDF files....JUST MUG THEM UP..
For reasoning ....go thru analytical reasoning questions....those which are sort of puzzles...
Maths == Quicker Mathematics == M.tyra..(BSC)...Don't touch any other book
English == is damn easy if you know the meanings of "abundant" and "insignificant"..!

Approx....2 months.....just focus on preparing GA and computer well.....REST IS EASY go according to what i've written...

VERY VERY VERY * 100000 IMPORTANT = PLEASE SOLVE SAMPLE PAPERS OF PO in a time constraint....solve atleast 20 po papers....buy a book on sample papers (plenty available)

@prateek987 : Are u sure that avrg pkg for PO is ~11LPA ?
Can u please point me to last year's notification for the same?

@techack Dude when I say 11 lakh it means....ki jab 30 % increase waali baat apply ho jaygi....it has to be implemented from Feb 2013....however It may or may not be delayed....the demand to increase the salary for po and clerk was made by bank unions....they even called a strike for a day or a day....
the present package for SBI ONLY is 9 lakhs...
Now I t DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL GET 70000 pm...
It will take a long time to explain to you how IT ALL ADDS UPTO 9 LAKHS (Without deducting any tax)....
It includes all facilites -- house rent (they pay till 25000 rupees if you are posted in a metropolitan ), petrol incentives,household incentive,mobile phone allowance,magazine allowance,domestic help allowance...
ONE LAKH RUPEES JUST FOR FURNITURE ...
Its a very long list.....:p
If you can believe this...GOOD for you....

career path -- if starting from PO.....can become the chairman of the bank....

You can still pursue MBA from some decent institutes who looks for overall profile.

I am also stuck in a big dharam sankat. Please help me out. My profile

xth class: 88%
XIIth class: 79%
BTech (IT): 6.2 (CGPA) out of 10
MBA: 8.4% (CGPA) out of 10
BTech-MBA is a dual degree from a B grade college. (equivalent to Amity)
Work Ex: 3 yrs in an IT MNC (ITES)
Current Salary: Rs 5L+

I am sick of my job and I want to study again. I am planning to pursue it abroad (read US or Australia). I have recently given my GRE. The official scores are not yet out but the raw scores are
Quant: 158
Verbal: 160

I am not very fond of programming or computer science in general. During my MBA I used to enjoy Finance but I am not a bond at it either.
Now I am vacillating; I am not sure if I should pursue MS Finance or MS Computer Science.

I have seen many people going to US; doing MS Computer Science and getting settled there. I want to do MS Finance but I am worried about the placements. What if I do the MS in finance and then I end up without a job?

Can anybody tell me about the job prospects of MS Finance? Would it be a risk to do MS Finance?
It is too late now? Am I too old now?

I want to do MBA but the following are the cons of my profile
1. very average acads
2. no extra curricular activities
3. no one from office will give me a reference as the work culture is very horrible. People only try to sabotage your career at each and every step but they would never help you out.

Also I think the admissions for Fall 2013 (for US) is closed. Please HELP!!!
