Hello Friends,

We are current students of IIMB - EPGP (Class of 2011-12) and would be happy to take any questions related to academics and student life at IIMB.

Wishing you good luck with your admission process.

Regards,
IIMB EPGP III Students

which is better iim-b or iim-c in ranking ?

Both IIMB and IIMC have not applied for rankings in ft, etc. so far for their Executive MBA programs (EPGP, PGPX).

Thanks for starting this thread.. for IIMB EPGP 2012-13 intake.

Are there (Any) Doctors in the present batch?
If yes.. then.. I would like to know their Profile.. ie. their Work-Ex & GMAT score.
Do Consulting firms recruit Doctors? Do MNC Pharma companies come for campus placements?

Thanks in Advance.

When would the applications start (with the deadline)?

@ Dr Saurabh: There are no doctors in the current as well as in the pervious batch. I think there was one profile with pharma BG two years before. For lack of doctors and pharma guys in our senior and current batches, didn't have any companies' coming in that front. Given a profile, it should be possible to bring in companies in that sector. You can actually be a different profile in the list of applicants...
Applications will start some time in July and the deadline by end of September (approximates)

Thanks EPGP@IIMB for your fast response.

I'm preparing for GMAT and would be writing it in July-end.

I would like to know the average and the minimum GMAT score @ your current batch? Since I have a different profile(From the IT/Engg Junta).. so I might have the advantage of qualifying with somewhat lesser GMAT than the average.. however I am aiming for 680+ score.

What is the average & minimum work-ex required for the EPGP?

Finally the thread for epgpIV. I would be writing my GMAT in July. Pls let me know the long term career goals for management consultants.

Thanks EPGP@IIMB for your fast response.

@Dr Saurabh :: The average GMAT score of our batch is 700 and the lowest score 650. GMAT is one of the criteria for selection, others being SOP, leadership experience, extracurricular activities and good academic background. If you have all of them, then you are a very good candidate for selection !!
Work-Ex should be between 7 & 14 years.

@sam1254 : Its difficult to give specific long term career goals. They are usually broad and very ambitious. There is no one single absolute answer. I suggest that you arrive at your long term goals based on your career progress so far and your future insterests.

Can you suggest some coaching center in Bangalore for GMAT near Indiranagar or Whitefield?

Hi Thanks for starting this thread. I am planning to apply in some executive MBA programs in IIMs. Can you please take a look at my profile:

GMAT score: 710
work-exp: 6.5 years till today (IT), 3 years in client-facing position (USA)

I don't have any exp of extra-curricular activities with NGO etc but I have organized my school reunion and also was part of core-committee in college fest.

I think I am lagging little in work-exp; do you think it will be a judicious decission for me to apply in IIM-B or IIM-C?

@ritzbcool: Your profile looks good. If you can come up with a strong SOP showcasing your leadership capabilities and your future aspirations, you should be a strong candidate. All the very best !!

@SumitKhanna: Not exactly sure about the GMAT coaching centres in the localities mentioned. Suggest you google the same.
One good institute I know off is Princeton. They used to have a centre in Indiranagar a couple of years back.

Hi EPGP@IIMB,
Thanks for your reply. I think IIMs are yet to open up their appication process for next year admit. In the meanwhile, i was thinking about progressing with my SOP. Can you tell me if IIMs specify any word limit fo SOPs? If yes, what it is in avg? If not, what should be the range of word limit applicant should adhere with.

Thanks,
Rittick

@ritzbcool: The word limit for SOP is around 600 words (about a page or slightly more than that)

Do they mention the word-limit for SOP? Or 600 word is standard what you are saying? I had the assumption of 900 words.

There is a word limit for SOP and its around 600 words, though I don't remember the exact count.

Can you tell me while counting for the words in SOP should we count preposition and/or article as words?

Thanks,
Rittick
