The Notification of the admission for VGSOM,IIT Kharagpur for the year 2013-15 is out.
Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) will use CAT score for short-listing domestic candidates and GMAT score for short-listing international candidates for its MBA program.
The Eligibility Criteria is :
A candidate who has either secured or is likely to secure a first class Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology or a first class Masters degree in Science (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelors level) or a first class Masters degree in Economics or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelors level) together with first class in both secondary and higher secondary is eligible for admission. Selection will be based on application rating, performance in CAT for domestic students and GMAT for international students, and candidates performance in group discussion and personal interview. Post-qualification work experience in industrial organizations will be given due consideration. The School follows Government of India norms regarding eligibility and reservation of seats for qualified Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates, Other Backward Classes and Persons with Disability.
Online applications will commence on 9th January 2013.
Last date for applying online is 28th January 2013.
Candidates shortlisted for GD/PI process will be intimated through registered post / courier by late February 2013.
The GD/ PI process will be conducted between late March and early April 2013 in Kolkata, Delhi , Mumbai , Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
How to apply :
Step 1 - After taking the CAT examination domestic candidates should obtain a demand draft of Rs 1500 (for General and OBC candidates) or Rs. 750 (For SC/ST/PH candidates) made in favor of "IIT Kharagpur" payable at Kharagpur.
Please note that there is no application fee for female candidates.
Step 2 - Completing the application online by at http://www.som.iitkgp.ernet.in (please note that the link will be active on 9th January 2013)
Step 3 - Send the print out of the application form and attested photocopies of proof of qualification,experience and requisite demand draft to

The shortlist for GD and PI will be out in February 2013 and candidates will be able to check the same in the VGSOM website. The selected candidates will also receive a hard copy of offer letter for interview by end of February which will sent to them through registered post / Courier

as far as i know, Profile based calls were given last year. 😃
Calls will be based on a candidate's CAT score/ percentile and overall profile ....a specific cut off as such is difficult to predict

VGSOM will be issuing profile based( a combination of the CAT score/percentile and the overall profile rating) GDPI calls due to which there is no specific cut off percentile as such.

In profile based calls, due importance will be given to academics, work experience and relevant professional certifications

The School offers an advanced programme in management leading to the award of the Ph.D. degree of IIT, Kharagpur. The programme requires the candidate to take a package of compulsory courses recommended by the Doctoral Scrutiny Committee and write a dissertation of a high standard. Currently, there are several students enrolled in the doctoral programme who are pursuing their studies in the areas of Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Strategic Management.
