Congratulations to all of you who have been issued the call for the stage 2 of the admission process. The calls are yet being sent so many of you might not have got the notifications. We start this thread on a new note to carry forward healthy discussions amongst you people. Also regularly we would update about our set of experiences and help you regarding the same.

First it was IMT , now it is IIT-K ....is it so difficult to put up a shortlist on the website ?

Admission weightage :

(a) CAT Score
25% (this would be the scaled score based on the absolute marks obtained by the applicant in
CAT-2011 examination).
(b) Academic background
25% (based on the evaluation by personal interaction (PI) & assessment committees.)
(c) Work experience
25% (The score for work experience counted in months đ?‘Ľ will be (i) 6 2012.
(d) Group discussion (GD)
25% (This will be an objective assessment based on the applicants performance in group
discussion (GD)).

i suppose calls are also profile based....coz there are too many people btw 93 and 100.

Nothing as such mentioned by seniors or anyone else...calls are %ile based as per info so far
Also a senior told that there would be approx 1100 calls for approx 77 seats

Congrats to all call getters. :clap:

One request from my side.
Can you post your cat percentiles and also your date of interview and the place from which you are travelling in the following format. It'll be helpful if a few of us, in case we belong to the same place, can catch up with each other or maybe plan our travel together.

P.S. I will be travelling alone and from Coimbatore. A long journey, and hence will be helpful if there's some company. Also enjoyment guaranteed :D

I'm at 93.98 percentile and I'll post my details as soon as I get the mail

Hello Arjun,

My work experience by end of March will be 19 months. However in the form I filled my work experience till Jan (i.e. date of submission of application). That makes it 17 months. I dont wana lose out on the extra 2 points for work experience; in such high competition they will make a difference. Kindly help me as to what shall I do in this case??

Hi All ,
I am from South INDIA ofcourse Chennai ( ) ... so i have the option to travel only through Flight because through train its gonna be 3 days ...
I was told that to come for Lucknow Airport and not for Kanpur Airport ..

On that case i would require your suggestion on some regular flight to Lucknow which shouldnt get cancelled ... ..

I was told to catch a CAB for IIT Kanpur .. is there any other option i cant book CAB from IIT Kanpur for To and FRo ....

any Advice regarding travel to IIT KAnpur would be welcome ...

PS : Chennai puys throw your ideas as well ..
