Cracking NEET, just like any other entrance examination, needs proper planning and hard work. There is no shortcut to it and thus you need to be fully aware of:

  1. Your Syllabus
  2. Time in your hand
  3. Pattern of the examination
  4. Total number of Questions and marks associated with it
  5. Time given for the test

Once you know all this, it is the time to begin your preparation. Less than 5 months are left for NEET 2017 and most of the students may be are busy studying for their board exams as well. But those who are repeaters or are preparing themselves in coaching institutes are focused to crack the examination. Hence, you have a tough competition from them. The fact that there are some 11 Lakh candidates fought for the 50,000 odd MBBS seats in the country clears the picture of level of difficulty of the examination. Hence you should have a proper strategy in mind for the examination. There are three subjects that you will be preparing for and the consequent number of questions are given below:1.Physics- 45 Questions ( 45*4= 180)2. Chemistry- 45 Questions (45*4= 180)3. Biology (Zoology+ Botany)- 90 Questions (90*4= 360)The total marks of NEET is 720 and somewhere around 500 to 600 is a score that many candidates look forward to, in order to be on the safer side of getting a government medical college of repute. To prepare and get those marks, you have to follow some simple steps:

  1. Work on a schedule on what are the broader subjects you are going to study in the next few months
  2. Make a routine of studying the subject which you fear the most.
  3. Although Biology is the main subject in the examination, the key to success lies in performing well in Physics and Chemistry papers.
  4. Start your revisions two months prior to the examination.
  5. Practice mock question papers and different test sets on a regular basis.
  6. Keep track of the time taken to solve the questions while you are practicing sets.
  7. Follow books and online coaching manuals to get an idea as to how the questions are.
  8. Take a self test every week to measure how prepared you are.
  9. Make a list of words and acronyms that you find tricky and practice them regularly.
  10. Shed your fear and go all guns blazing at your examination. Do not attempt questions you are not sure about as negative marks can ruin your chances of getting selected.

Best of Luck for your examination. For more information on the NEET 2017, keep an eye on our website.
