I was wondering why isn't there any thread related to UPTU exam!

I know the Uttar Pradesh's exam is nothing when compared to CAT but being an examination attended by around a lakh aspirants it deserves to have a thread related to it,what say?

It's true that most of you here at PG won't be interested in it but few people like me who have all their stakes in this exam are definitely in need of some serious advice.

With a dream of making this thread usable, lets start our journey of disussions related to college rankings, cut offs, result analysis among others.

Does any one have an idea of colleges in UP? There are almost 450 colleges in UP but when it comes to best of them I am clueless. The list of best could be made out from academics, placements, cultures etc.....

Hi Maverick_Ironside,

JSS is considered the best or one of the best private institutions of UP. Most top rankers go in for it. Its ranking could be considered to be interleaved with the govt. counterparts. Seeing the rank in girls' quota, I think u have a good chance.

I have enquired about JSS, Noida; and outcome is like following.
JSS suppose to be one of the best engineering college with having around 200% placement. For technical education , no doubt it is one of the best private institute on UP. Regarding MBA, only two batches have been passed out.

At this rank, you can get some good colleges. But it is up to your priority, city preference etc.

Better you prepare list of target institutes and check last year cutoff percentile.

In my personal opinion, all institutes situated in NOIDA, Ghaziabad and GNoida. are same.

If you check following than it would be easy for you to take decision.

  1. Check your priority
  2. Placement history
  3. Faculty profiles
  4. MDP, Seminar and Student Exchange Programmes history in that institute
Etc


First narrow down your target college list and than visit institute personally, if possible. For last year cutoff percentile, check with existing students and college administration.

At this rank I think JSS is not possible, but you can get Galgotia.

Can I know reason, why you target these two institutes?

There is not major difference between Govt. Institute and private Institutes.
Rank given by UPTU is basis on academics .
Finally what a student need is "Decent campus placement". Do not expect too much from institute in today market scenario.
These institutes don't stand anywhere, if we talk about All India MBA institute ranking.
If Govt. College has lower fee than opt Govt. college.

Hi,
Most of private management institutes also run PGDBM course along with MBA from UPTU. For PGDBM they use MAT etc test result and fee for these course is around 6 lac to 14 lac . These PGDBM etc course are main source of income for these institutes. They shared infrastructure facilities, faculties etc for both courses .
So before finalize admission, visit target institutes personally, meet students and collect all required information. This information will help you to take decision.
Points to check before admission:
  1. Campus placement record
  2. Faculty profile
  3. MDP, Seminar, Student exchange programs record
  4. Institute management profile
  5. Hostel, Infrastructure and other facilities
  6. Your personal preferences

Dear Gargipan,
I mentioned in my previous post regarding JSS.
JSS is very good institute of technical education . Around 200% placement record for BE. Regrinding MBA, only two batches have been passed out yet, without impressing placement record.
