Well the paper was awful for me :sad:...i wasnt able to attempt DI much n dnt thnk would be able to clear its cutofff...quant was tough cutoff would b arnd 8..n vocab n rc were avergae...
overall cutoff for icfai hyd. wud b arnd 50-55..
wrote essay on favouring olympics 2020 india n mixed various elements quite well.. ppl do tell me how was DI as i was nt able to attemt much..only hope if DI cutoff arnd 7 ..

The paper was pretty easy overall.. Quant was the more tougher section I felt..

Nd in DI i think there were 13 questions on Data Sufficiency, a few of which were easy, and then the 2 sets were also pretty easy..

However I hadnt heard of sectional cutoffs in IBSAT, but here it was clearly specified in the paper..generally almost all get a call, but dnt knw what they plan to do this year..

I have query on General essay part.If someone has not written anything except the name, how would it affect on the overall admission process for that candidate? Was Anything mentioned in the instructions?

how can you say that the overall cut-off would be 50-55
last year it was 60%
looking at that it should be somewhere around 70
and there wasnt any negative marking also so the cut-off may even shoot up

the paper was a real shocker...
i hv attempted all
i seriously felt they fooled us with the mocks given by them... maths we way 2 tough than expected...:new_bat_angel:
overall also the paper was tougher than expected but was fine...
tctonline says a good attempt is 60+ ....

Hi All,Verbal was ok.. Quants and DI was tough.. If you compare the mock tests and the CD papers there was a lot of variance in the difficulty level of questions in DI and Quants.. Morever sectional cut offs.. wonder yy they have it.. Also if they call everybody to Hyd then y cut offs .. cant understand..Cheers,Austin

can ne1 tell me about further selection procedure for hyderabad nd which are some better icfai institutes other than icfai hyderabad........

most of the ppl with get a call
they dont give scores............ they just call almost all
u will have an interview and u need to speak on a topic for 5 mins....... they will provide u a list of topics.......... u can select any one

i too felt the same way as u people.:sad:. they ditched us big time with their mock tests.. anyways can any one explain what the hell are they going to do with our question papers?

see first thing ifcai doesnt disclose dere cutoffs n marks..so if u sayng last yr it was 60% cutoff no one wud b damm sure.. also last time dere were 180 n difficulty level was mush easier...dis time the quant n DI were bit on the moderate difficulty type...n since jmet was such n easy paper n cutoff of jmet arnd 65-70 so considering ibsat level cutoff would b arnd 55 i.e a guy scoring min 55 will get a call surely...

mumbai and gurgaon are good......

English was tough. DI was bit messy- the statements arguments part. Overall more than avg difficult paper. Attempted all.
Do we need to apply for the colleges separately?

nope..differeent colleges ll call u depending on ur rank..

Seems like quite less people of PG has given IBSAT when compared to the momentum of number of posts of SNAP 2008 discussion thread.
Probably it can be deduced that the competition may reduce in further rounds.

i dont think you'll be called by different colleges
you'll be called for your gd-pi in hyderabad and after that you'll be assigned a college

Im sorry but there is a fundamental error in the Statement.
IBSAT is a common entrance exam for ALL IBS centers.
we dont have to apply to the diff IBS centers nor they will call us.
Its ur choice and ranking among the IBS instiutes that you will or must have filled {not sure about the sequesnce} shall be considered while allocation a IBS center after the interview.

i just wanted 2 know that do acads play an imp role in ibs hyd or the like whilefinal selections??
i am not through out 60% .
plz suggest me can I make 2 hyd if my present. and int. goes well?
won't the acads hinder my chances??

Acads are one of the MAJOR sections for ur selection in IBS. but there are cases in my batch who weren't first div holders throughout...but could sell their candidature to the interviewers in the Selection process.

Another thing to be kept in mind is that for placements some co's ask for a first div all round. hope this makes the general idea about acads is clear!

2)May I know whether IBS Hyderabad has applied for an AICTE Approval? If yes, then can you please let me know the status of it?
ans)IBS does not award any degrees/ diplomas; it merely extends academic support and placement assistance to the students interested in pursuing MBA & Executive PG Programs of the ICFAI University, Dehradun as private candidates

WAT DOES DIS MEAN?????it does not award any diploma????i hope we wont be at loss coz of this....pallavi,plz clarify....


i had my convocation this Sat. 20th Dec and I got an MBA degree!!
so relax! 😃
