3. Pather Panchali ( Satyajit Ray wrote poetry with his camera angles and continuity)

2.Hiroshima Mon Amour ( an absolutely mind blowing movie on the hiroshima nagasaki incident ...)
3.BLACK ( finally a movie coming out of India after a long time which has a universal apeal)
4. The Apu trilogy by Satyajith Ray... Pather Panchali sets the tone and Ray never lets go of your facination.
5. Godfather
6. The Bicycle Theives.. an italian movie
7. Pulp Fiction ( i can write a 5000 word essay on this movie .. Quentin Tarantino tells a story like no other)
8. Identity ( the movie actually starts from the end and goes to the beginning ...
9. Bowlin for Columbine ( a real good insight on the gun culture in America)
10. Life is beautiful... wht can i say a really heart warming movie

I guess i can rattle out many more names and become all nostalgic at the thought of those movies .. so i will stop now

Thanks for the compliment .. no i ahve not been able to watch Midnight Cowboy as yet .. but will do so when i get the oppurtunity .. after i had posted i suddenly remebered that i had forgotten another of my all time favourites.. which is FIGHT CLUB... Edward Norton rules.. i love all his movies .. have u seen AMERICAN HISTORY X ? anyways good to know u have a similar taste .. movies are quite a passion with me and then i have a bunch of friends who are equally fanatical .. also am pretty regular at the various film festivals held in the city ..

1. Forrest Gump - For Tom Hanks' fabulous performance. FG is possibly the movie with the most unique storyline that i've ever seen. the way FG's life has been intertwined with people and events in post WWII american history.... its simply amazing.

2. Dil Chahta Hai - Finally a movie which portrayed the actual "US" a movie the sequences of which we could finally identify with...there's a shade of us in all the 3 lead protagonists...

3. Terminator 2 - Need i say more?? i know this movie by heart now...
