1.A Beautiful Mind - The film, which stars Russell Crowe as John Nash and Jennifer Connelly as his wife Alicia, has won four Oscars, including best film, best director and best supporting actress. Howard's film portrays Nash as an intellectually brilliant man, who succumbed to schizophrenia for many years and then finally triumphed over his illness, winning a Nobel Prize in 1994.Russel Crowe's portrayal of John Forbes Nash, Jr (the man who was one of the pioneers of game theory & provided insight into the forces that govern chance and events inside complex systems in daily life) was a lifetime act.
2.Pursuit of Happyness - WILL SMITH coming out of his usual character of ONE WHO fights aliens( MIB, INDEPENDENCE DAY) to serious inspirational character of salesman to become a highly successful investment banker .THIS movie worth watching FOR ALL the inspiration it brings.
3. Children of Heaven - The movie is from not so far away land....PERSIA(IRAN).....is excellent realistic emotional family drama... where the main protagonists are two children - brother and sister.......awesome story.. brilliant picturesqueness.... SUCH THINGS ATTRIBUTED TO IRAN GETTING A RESPECTFUL STATUS AMONG GLOBAL MOVIE COMMUNITY........our indian masala stuff has good inspiaration to learn from a LAND NOT FAR AWAY......
I just watched a Ram Gopal Verma movie called "RANN" starring Amitabh Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh yesterday and I liked it. Never had expected RGV to deliver such a thoughtful movie. In fact I was unaware of the fact that it was a movie by him. After I was going through the credits, did I realize who the director was. :D
