@TEENA616 Would suggest you to prepare for next year's CAT/XAT. If you're currently working, continue with the job. If not, try to get one and then start preparing for the next year's Examination. There's no point in joining any B school just for the sake of doing MBA.
im a btech passout of 2012 june.....so i may lost 2 years if i loss 1 year too......pls suggest some other option....?hw u rate scms college?...dnt compared to d most good ones...i want a feedbak... tell me some other colleges i can opt wit mat 87 and cat 67
@TEENA616 Its better to lose 1 more year rather than being confused/sorry for the another 2 years( during your MBA) about your decision to join any B school. I know 1 year of desperation is forcing you to take a decision in haste, but you need to understand that joining these colleges would not do any good to you. So, I would suggest you to try your luck in IT industry or prepare for Graduation level exams like Bank PO and others. Believe me, this is the best decision you could take now. If you get anything above 90%ile next year, you would get through some good institute.
@redd Hey, you could consider JGBS as an option to apply to. Being backed by the Jindal group, Where the university not only gives attention to curriculum , but also other matters relating to development which are needed for a fresher.

its better to loose one year than to loose the next 40 years which will depend on the next 2 years of your post graduation. but if you really want to do this year, try your luck with MAT because 67 do not worth any institute.. ATB

2) What do recruiters look for in a profile? Your first job is almost never your last job

3) for Indian B-Schoolers or to-be B-schoolers three things are very very important -
AGE - Aim for lowest age highest profile (pretty obvious reason). Its a HUGE DEAL.
PROFILE - Profile is the deciding factor for Pay. Profile is the reason you love your work and get ahead in life. Check what profiles the recruiters recruit for in your B-School of Choice
INDUSTRY - Look for what industries come to pick up from the b-school because that decides a lot more than you think - It pretty much decides your entire future work life and what you learn for the next 35 years, along with the profile.

you will realise how much the top 15 b-schools lie about salsary and profiles if you read the report very minutely 😃 and yeah its a collective unnecessary evil which is not going to stop unless everyone adopts teh same standards of placement reporting. As you can see SPJain, IMT-G, IIM-S, XIMB, TAPMI are the only ohter signatories in the top b-schools list. Why are others missing? Well for obvious reasons but IIM-A's report is a very good indicator to go by. Its a measuring tape. even b-schools mentioned haven't completely filled in their details.
5) Look at Alumni and Profiles in 2 years, 3 years and 5 years time via Linkedin. Its an amazing way to find out about both profile, pay and Industry. Use these things in your favour if you really want to know about how students from a particular b-school are performing.
If possible also look for job postings on naukri, monster and other major job portals and see what they ask for - You will very easily realise that only the top 15 older b-schools matter, along with Profile & Industry.
6. Find out what you want to do in life before you apply to a B-School or atleast have some sort of a clear hint.
