As far as i know, private institutes have to apply to the "Association of Indian Universities" by paying a fee of Rs. 50,000. This is basically to compare foreign degress with Indian ones afaik.

i m from chennai n i can advise you to consider IFMR for Financial engineering. It is ranked 6th or 7th best financial course in india. One of my friend has done FE at IFMR and he says its a very good course. In case you need any further help ping me i wil revert back to you with the required info.

As far as i kno they gave call at 75 percentile last year. i would say you have border chances to get a call but you will have to work really hard to convert it. it jus my opinion but yeah consider IFMR oly for FE if you have other options available else if you have to get a admission this year itself then you must have applied to TAPMI and MICA as well. and if you had applied to IMT you would have got nagpur/hyderabad/dubai call for sure.
