@avinashkrjha Thank you Sir 1 more query : What is the tentative date of the declaration of XIMB GD/PI list?
I would suggest you ask institute specific queries in the respective help desk. The purpose of this thread is different!

@supratimd916 SIR ARE U SURE I CAN GET MICA CALL AT THIS PERCENTILE??
MICA calls everyone for their own test MICAT, scheduled sometime in March, irrespective of CAT/XAT/GMAT scores!!
@ashishrana90 Don't have much idea about that. Maybe a senior puy can help you out. Ask them. :)

Hi, @ajaygovindg , I have a query which may be out of scope of popular entrance exams like CAT/XAT etc. What's your view about SOIL, gurgaon? Should I seriously consider it. I have more than 4.5 years of experience in IT. I want to do 1 year MBA. I also got 93 percentile in XAT 2013. I can also apply to GLIM, chennai and gurgaon. I think going by the figures and curriculum I am finding SOIL better and promising in future. Placement figures are also at par with most of the TOP Bschools with avg salary of 10L+. What's your opinion on this? Should I seriously consider SOIL? Thanks in Advance and looking forward for your valuable advice.

Pros - All that you said and maybe other points also.

Cons - Not AICTE approved (by their own choice they have not gone for it) and so it is just a Certificate Program you're looking at. But even ISB is not AICTE approved (although not by choice but by force). Not having AICTE approval would not be a big issue if you plan to work in private sector only. Some other issues/problems you might face read this - http://www.pagalguy.com/posts/4281858

Good/Bad are subjective. What is good for someone else may not be good for you. So better you search/find information and facts for yourself and decide for yourself if it is good/bad.

If it is just placements you're looking at, then any time only top 20 B-Schools are recommended. At other places its a matter of luck (as only very few people, in the whole batch, make it in that 10+ salary bracket) and how you sell yourself.
@ajaygovindg Apologies. Will take due care from next time.

@ajaygovindg Thanks for the reply, If we leave this one Factor of AICTE approval. Then what would you say? I got an admit from this B school and have to confirm my seat this month by paying a handsome amount. Now with 93 pecentile in XAT, I can also expect a call from GLIM, chennai (AICTE approved) but in that case I'll have to loose this admission offer. Is it a risk worth taking? I am in big dilemma right now.
@avinashkrjha Thanx Avinash..one more query need to be clarified that i heard as per last year cutoff my chances for XIMB is very less as i secured only 77 percentile in VA/LR..thats why very sad and worried....plz respond ..thanx in advance

That should not be a matter of worry. Sectionals are not very high for XIMB.. !!
@avinashkrjha Thanks sir...
@avinashkrjha okk thanx dost..
@Bibhu2109 thanx for ur reply..i have some queries if clarified i will be grateful to u..
1> Considering my VA/LR score and IIT-M last year OA and sectional cutoff do i have any chances for IIT-M. as no cut off declared by them officially

2> how is iit-kanpur and what cud be my chances as OA 85 is the cut off and no sectional cut off found on their official website

3>do i have any chances for spjain ?
sry for inconvenience caused..
@aimiim2012 1. IIT-M's cutoff was 94 with sectionals cutoff at 88 in CAT.
2. IIT-K is good. Its cutoff was 93 last year through CAT.
3. About S P Jain, I am not so sure I have heard that their cutoffs are very high. Just below the IIMs.
