As far as IIM Indore placements are concerned, since I have quite a few people in my family who are visiting faculties in these institutions, it's absolutely the same scenario everywhere this year. Please don't judge an IIM just by its placements this year. Take into account whatever @abhinav_insane has said, all valid points. Ultimately it's your call. ATB:)

To get into private equity one needs to be from Tier I institutes i.e. top IIMs, XLRI and FMS. As far as I know PEVC firms do not DO NOT visit Tier II colleges.
At NM Capital Markets, you could get into wealth management but as a Relationship Manager, which is a sort of sales job.
At NM Capital Markets, your opportunities would be limited. In last three years, more than 2/3rd of students are placed in operations related jobs (i.e. NO-Equity Research, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, etc)
My opinion would be-
If you are a fresher, join as the probationary officer and take some experience. (Try next year, with better preparation, and try to get in general course where you would have more opportunities.)
Generally, I advise against work-ex but your work ex is in relevant filed and would help you in getting job in finance.
Hope that helps.

Height of overconfidence , I didn't pay my fees at NMIMS for CORE , and got rejected at SPJ , FMS ! Still wondering if I made the worst mistake , or MDI / XL / SJSOM will come to my rescue

friend I might not be a veteran, but trust me you did the right thing by not blocking your money at nmims. had I been at your place I would have done the same. MDI is a sure convert (acc to last 3yrs trends), SJMSOM considering the movement takes 350 ppl for 60 gen seats and one of my very close friend studying there suggested if you've work ex of 2+ yrs you've a sure convert with a good PI. so I would say stop worrying, good news will be up for you around 22nd april (thats when Im expecting MDI results to be out, completely my opinion) P.S. A rejected soul with 5/5 rejects from NMIMS, SIBM, SCMHRD, FMS, IIFT :)

@scarfacetony said:@pksingh3232go for IIM Indore....once an IIMite, always an IIMite.
@vision_twist said:Do consulting firms like kpmg,deloitte,E & Y allow capital market candidates for the placement process?
@pksingh3232 @vision_twist
I have already these queries for Vision_Twist through PMs but I guess he wanted to re-verify or re-affirm my answers., which I guess is a good thing.
Anyways, answer is NO....these consultancy firms as well as other consultancy profiles offered by Capgemini or Wipro Consulting were not open for CM/BM students.
Now, whether companies don't allow it or college does not want it as its primary focus is Core program, can be debated.
