Seniors, Could you please throw light on the course - ' M.A in Development Studies' ? What roles are usually offered to graduates of this program and in what kind of institutions? Is there placement assistance for this course, and if so, is there 100% placement?
@TISSian @Anchun @gdm4u87 The educational details section in the admission form is asking for Marks obtained and the maximum marks. My university followed a S.G.P.A and C.G.P.A format with no specific marks for each semester. How should I enter the details?
I am an engineer in Electronics and Telecommunication stream and currently working in Infosys since the last 2 years and 4 months. I did read the MA brochure and I will definitely apply for HRM program. But I also want to apply for one more program among Media And Cultural Studies or Developmental Studies. I am interested in Media and Cultural Studies but it has only 25 seats with 50% reservation. So, effectively around 12-13 seats for General category. I did read the details and the courses offered in these 2 programs. But I wanted to know which among Media And Cultural Studies and Developmental Studies has a better future scope and better placement options. What kind of package is expected in placements for these 2 streams.
Any help or guidance would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

1.i am preparing for civil services ..have written this yr mains exam..friend can you please tell me ..can i have 6-7 hr time for m civil services exam along with tiss programe..
means can i manage both of these simultaneously ...for civil services i need at least 6hr a day...
2.can i postpone my joining to new session ..atleast for 5months
3.is there any provision of medical leave during session...because i need atleast 2 months before mains for full preparation...

Regarding your queries,
1) 6-7 hours every day would be really really difficult. It was not possible for me at least. Won't say it would be impossible but I don't think one has that kind of leisure in any post-graduate program.
2) The joining CANNOT be postponed. You have to be present in the time-frame allotted to the candidates.
3) Medical leave is provided but you really need to have a medical reason for that. You have to have the certificate from the institute's doctor to get medical leave.

I have been saying this repeatedly--All the programs in TISS have some of the best placements available for THAT particular program in the country.
Only exception is Social Entrepreneurship (SE) because placements have been discontinued for that course due to obvious reasons.
So if placements is one of your major considerations, I would advise you not to apply to MASE. If not, it's a good program, just like all other programs over here.

Requesting everyone here--There has been a flood of such queries on this thread. Please understand that these are very specific queries and the best way to solve these would be calling TISS Care. There is a reason it has been provided, right?
Regarding your second query, the two programs that u have mentioned are completely different from each other. So u will need to learn more about these programs (not just in terms of placements). Go through the details of each program given in the brochure and also take the help of Google to learn more. We are on diwali vacations as of now so it would be difficult to catch hold of someone from other programs to get the details. I will try and do it once the vacations are over. Till then, I would suggest you to do thorough research on your part and get back in case u have any query.
How is School of media ?? Any senior from the programme can provide some info plz...

@sunky567 Is this the actual one .test will have questions related to Social Sensitivity; Knowledge on Contemporary issues; Analytical Ability, and Logical Reasoning. but it doesnt hav any Qs related to Social Sensitivity more over there are few Qs on QA as well..
hey!!! im in my final year of B.Sc. and am filling the tiss form. when i reach the section where we put our marks, i put my marks of 1st and 2nd year and try to continue, but the form gives an error and tells that it is mandatory to put 3rd year marks also. but i will appear for my 3rd year exam in 2013. so what should i do?

But am facing problems with application procedure....Maybe some problem with the website......Am stuck at the course selection page. .... After selecting mumbai campus.....the scroll of options for various courses is not getting generated.... I have tried opening the page at firefox, IE and Crome.....Plz help me pal.! 
hi.I am interested in Master of Social Work Rural development program. Can somebody provide some info regarding the placements for Rural development? Does the course hold the same value as PRM from IRMA?
