[2013-2015] TISS HR and other programs queries

@gdm4u87 - If possible, please ask some seniors from school of habitat studies also to come on PG.

is bank PO range preparation enough to crack TISS

What is the cost to register for one program and also for 5 programs? Is it same?

@mbajamesbond
its 920/- per course

In the educational details they have asked us to fill the total marks obtained in every semester/year. My college followed a credit based system awarding grades for the subjects.Confused about what to fill in as total marks.Anyone else facing the same problem??

All the TISS aspirants,

I am a current second year student at TISS. I think there is a small confusion on which Facebook group you have to join. There are few active groups and the list is as follows:

I just wanted to clarify this, as I have got some requests for TISS SMLS group. That group is only for current and ex students of TISS.

@pm007 - i think because masters in HR Management from TISS is one of the best and most wanted courses in the HR field in India , in some ways better than many institutes offering only MBA - so many companies must also be prefering students from a unique college background like TISS.. Look at this article from last years summer placements -
http://www.pagalguy.com/news/tiss-mumbai-summer-placements-2011-13-fmcg-ites-sectors-dominate-a-21149
it shows that some of the top cos like
Procter & Gamble, Hindustan Unilever, Kraft Cadbury, Nestle, Colgate Palmolive, Marico, Coca Cola India, ITC, Microsoft, Nokia, Wipro, Deutsche Bank, GE and SAP to TISS for recruitment
Hi
This will be my first ever attempt in TISS , I will be applying for M.A. in HR only. As I know till last year academic record was not taken into account for admissions. But the form asks you to fill up your academic scores. My queries are:

1.)Is it first time TISS is asking for academic score
2.)Will it play a role in determining my selection
3.)I am aged 28 and already a PGDM in marketing will it have any negative impact

I know that it's clearly mentioned that selection will be based on WT,PIT & PT totalling 225 but it's a request from the students who are already pursuing HR from TISS that is past acads and some worrisome factors for me (that I have mentioned above) plays a vital role in final interview or it's just knowledge & passion for HR which matters? I will be greatful if you are able to provide some insight into it.

Thanks

hey Tiss aspirants der'a group for preapration in FB

Thought of sharing this :)

@dynamicarmaan

You can apply as many courses as possible

Most of the courses have separate processes though in 2 or more courses there could be combined GDs but each course has a separate PI

Panels are different for different courses and they have no issues if anyone applies to all.

And Frankly speaking most of the written papers of different courses have similar syllabus so one dont have separately prepare for each test separately ;)

Hope it helps
@46santhosh

TISS written though is on similar lines of Bank PO papers but there are certain types of questions which are specific to TISS like TISS GK only covers a variety of topics which bank paper generally dont cover and plus RCs are very lengthy and mostly on sociology and HRM these types of RCs aren't asked in anyother exam

Bottom-line is there are certain types questions, which also happen to carry heavy weightage are specific to TISS and hence require separate prepn

please throw some lite on such question, i mean which kind of stuff u r talking about

Can some one clear my doubt
Under important dates it is written "Last date for Reciept of completed forms at the institute by post and in person-Nov 17th"

I paid online and submitted. As far as what I know I dont think I have to send anything to the institute now? Am I correct? If yes the statement quoted above must be corrected na?
