oops i was completely off the mark with that one (this is what happens when you multitask at work), see buddy you were spot on with your logic. If we work it out, lets say you land a job with 7 Lpa CTC, your net income in hand comes to be around 45-50k , now out of this if you deduct your education loan that would leave you with 17-22k (just enough to pay off your bills).

So choose your options wisely and remember that this degree has a lifelong effect on your career.

But nonetheless , at least attend the GD/PI and then you will be better prepared and equipped to form your decision.

Cheers

Scored 194 in NMAT, what are the chances of call from NMIMS banglore, and how is the summer placement at there?

Dear all,

I see that this thread is getting too repetitive with all similar questions and answers. I will try and summarize all the FAQ's here

1) Cut-offs

Last year cut-off was 145. Also, those who cleared Mumbai cut-off but couldn't get through were called for Interviews.

This year, it is speculated that cut-offs will be relatively higher compared to last year's.

Now if you want us to give you the exact cut-offs, then we are sorry. You should understand that Cut-offs are decided at Vice Chancellor and Director level and you obviously cannot expect the VC to inform us before releasing them officially. So I advise you to stop asking questions like "Will I get a Call?" and things like that, because at this point our guess is as good as yours.

2) Placements:

I hope you guys by now, are aware of the fact that the First PGDM batch from NMIMS Bangalore is yet to passout. So, If you are asking about historic average salaries and stuff like that and expect us to answer it would be hopelessly insensible.

For those who want to know the average salaries of the present batch, please try and understand this simple logic. What if someone calls you up in the middle of your CAT exam and ask your percentile? You will obviously have no answer coz, you are yet to finish the paper and unless your scores are officially declared, you will be uncertain. It doesn't make sense if you give some random number and call it your score.

Similarly. the placement season here at NMIMS Bangalore is about to conclude in a few days and just like everything else has a procedure, the official announcement of avg salaries has one. You can't expect us to give some random figures on public forums which might hurt the credibility of the college.

3)Website:

I understand that the website is not so good-looking. We definitely are working on it. But if you explore the site with some patience, you find that there is every detail regarding the faculty, adjunct faculty and EPGDM placement reports with avg salary etc. So if you search for something that doesn't exist you will obviously never find it.

I hope, I made some sense here. I understand that you are anxious and curious to know so many things about NMIMS, Bangalore. We are trying to help you out with whatever information we have and it doesn't feel good if you constantly pass remarks on us and the institution. For any more queries, sensible of course, you can write to me personally here.

Adding to the above points, it is too early to bother so much about all these things. First let the shortlists be out and there is still a very long way to get in here. Please concentrate on converting your calls. You can always take a decision in the end.

Cheers!!

Dear Rahul

Future is unpredictable...Neither me nor anybody can tell u abt the package u will get after 2 years. But i can assure you that NMIMS will give you the best management education. Rest depends upon u and ur performance.

Montez

Hi Rahul,

I am glad someone has finally asked about academics in NMIMS Bangalore. In fact, the Best part of NM, Bangalore is faculty. Almost all faculty are the alumnus of IIMs and other IVY league schools and has excellent Industry experience. Keeping aside numbers (avg salaries, ranks etc), the learning experience is really good.

There will be an obvious change in the way you think because, you will be exposed to too many case studies, scenarios and presentations that you develop a critical thinking and start to look at things in different perspectives.

I tried to give you my point of view and its up to you to take a call.

Cheers :)

Dear

I appreciate your concern and the pain you took to draft the long document. However, as an aspirant I would like to know ,and so would be everyone, that whether spending 10 lakhs would be worth or we should wait for official placement report. Website design does not matter much. But it won't take great brains to understand that in the plethora of B school, we are looking for some institutes which can add value to us after 2 years of rigorous hard work. As an aspirant we are looking for institutes, which if new, be at least a differentiator in some aspect or the other. I assume that summer placements of the first batch would be over by now and the report as well. Guys I want something which helps me to decide whether my preference of NMIMS bangalore is good over 'mouse and cat institute of management'
