UPSC IES Result 2019

The results of engineering services main exam has been now declared by the Union Publis Service Commission (UPSC). The exam happened in the month of June 2019.

The exam committee conducted the personal interview in September and October and based on both the rounds, the list of those people who have been shortlisted for the post has been declared. The candidates can check their result by logging on to the official website at upsc.gov.in.

Nearly 500 candidates have been shortlisted after the final round of interview. This include the appointment of 233 civil engineers, 87 mechanical engineers, 86 electrical engineers and 88 in electronic and telecommunication.

Steps to check the result online

  1. Visit the official website of UPSC i.e. upsc.gov.in
  2. There will be ‘Results’ option on the right hand side of the menu
  3. The result has been uploaded in PDF format.
  4. One needs to download the pdf to view the result.
  5. It is better to save one copy for any future reference.

Exam pattern

There are mainly three stages of the selection: prelims, mains and the personal interview. The prelim test is conducted out of 500 marks and those who qualified it were eligible to appear for the mains and then for the personal interview (those who cleared mains as well).

The number of candidates selected for the personal interview was twice the number of vacancies available. For the personality test through interview nearly 200 marks were allotted. There was no minimal qualifying marks as such for the personal interview. The appearing candidates were evaluated on the basis of integrity of character, intellectual curiosity and other social qualities. Although, for the selection of final candidates, all three stages were taken into consideration.
