UPSC IES/ESE 2019 Preparation Tips

In order to recruit engineers of four domains such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunications, UPSC conducts ESE- Engineering Services Examination. It is considered as one of the hardest examinations in India due to fewer posts and high competition. Interested applicants should work hard and prepare for the examination and interview as soon as possible. UPSC conducts the national level examination by 3 stages and the cut off for each stage is released separately by UPSC in a PDF format.

Cut off              

The cut off for the year 2019 will be released after the examination. There are various factors that affect the cut-off, they are: the total number of candidates attempting the exam, Total Number of seats vacant, marking scheme of the examination, previous year cut off trends, and level of difficulty of the examination. Preparation Tips

It is not easy to crack the Engineering Service Examination as it is one of the standardized exams in the country. Interest applicants should follow the below tips for the better preparation of the examination:-

  1. The most important thing is to begin the preparation at least 6 months before the examination.
  2. It is important that the candidate must manage his/ her time and give equal importance to all the sections while preparing for their exam.
  3. Applicant should practice more and more sample papers or the previous year papers to increase speed and accuracy level.
  4. Apart from the studies, it is equally important that the applicant gets the proper sleep and healthy diet on regular basis.
  5. It is essential that the applicant stay confident and fearless and do not overstress themselves.
  6. Dedication and consistency is the key to clear the examination and be successful in the selection process.
  7. The more the practice the more are the chances to be successful in the selection process.
  8. The candidate must be aware of the detailed syllabus for each section of the paper in order to score good marks.
