Thereis an old adage, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

This is often over
used and yet undervalued.  The student
life at any B school is going to be hectic and might make you wonder if it is
an infinite loop of assignments, projects and presentations and life@imi is not going to be
drastically different. All this makes extra-curricular activities all the more
important. At IMI, Jack is allowed to follow his passion for sports not just so
that he doesn’t end up being dull but also to ensure that he doesn’t mistake
life at IMI to be a mundane act and just revolving around academics.

It
was a regular day at IMI, Most of the students
in the hostel were getting ready for their classes at 9.00, but then a
bunch of students come hurried back to the hostel all exhausted and in football
gear. They had been up since 6 am practising for an upcoming Sports fest. While
some students opted for an early session, there were others who managed to
squeeze in practice sessions at a different time despite having the “mundane”
work to do. For the uninitiated, the thought of having to go through a hectic
day of academics after a tiring session of practice might seem an impossible
task but then again, being able to manage all this is what makes it all the
more interesting.

Fast forward the timeline by a few days,
All those practice sessions were starting to pay off when the various sports
teams from IMI were facing off against teams from various other B schools.
After 3 fun filled and exciting days, IMI finished overall second in the sports fest but on any other day one would
not have been wrong to assume that IMI would have come out as the winners. Back
to business as usual from the following Monday, but the rest of the B school
world knows that be it football or basketball or volleyball, IMI-ians are a
force to be reckoned with. The students might have returned to their normal
lives in the fast lane but victory in such a tournament is not far away.
