The Under Graduate Programs

Pursuing Under Graduate Course in Europe

Europe has always been a center of learning for the last so many years and every year thousands of students try to get admissions to the great universities and colleges of Europe. However, we have witnessed that not many students know the procedure and requirements to apply for the Under Graduate colleges in Europe. We are sharing a document which gives us an overall understanding of the mechanism to secure admission in the college of your choice. At the same time, we would like you to go through in details of the requirement of individual college or where you want to apply.

We have divided the entire process of admission and visa into the following stages. This will give you a birds eye view of the entire process. We will be writing more articles for individual colleges later.

  • Application Process: The colleges in the west invite application on a rolling basis. A candidate is evaluated on the basis of his/her academic achievements, performance in standardized tests, learning potential and interest, ability to lead and any other experience (Like Job or Community Service).
Now the process is divided into three sub-stages: a) Application. A candidate may choose to apply either online or offline by registering his/her email address, download the form, fill it and send the form to the admission office after paying the fees.
    b) Admission Review: Each application process is reviewed as per the criteria set by the institute. Based on the information furnished and substantiated by the candidate, a candidate is selected or rejected.
    c) Acceptance: If a candidate is selected, then he has to give acceptance to the college and complete other formalities so that a seat is allocated to the students.
  • Now we should have the clarity regarding when the application process starts. We are aware that colleges follow semester system and semesters begin in October, February, June and March. Keeping these semesters in view, the admission calendar has mostly been divided into four parts, namely: a) Spring Semester: It starts from January (for the coming academic session, it would start on 30th January)
    b) Summer Semester I: It starts from May (for the coming academic session, it would start on 29th May)
    c) Summer Semester II: It starts in July (for the coming academic session, it would start on 31st July)
    d) Fall Semester: It starts from October (for the coming academic session, it would start on 2nd October)
  • If you have university credits from some other institute in Europe, then you may transfer some of your credits to the new institute. Transfer of credits is the next step. The following general rules apply to credit transfers at EU: a) Only credits necessary for the completion of an undergraduate degree at EU will be transferred, EU does not accept transfer credits toward its MBA programs
    b) Only credits from courses passed with a minimum grade of C (2.0) will be transferred
    c) Only credits from courses completed within 10 years prior to the date of entry to EU will be transferred
  • Tuition and fees are the next things that you need to know. Now there are many stages of the application process and there are fees for almost every stage. The stages where you may have to pay the fees are: a) Application Fees
    b) Tuition Fees (Semester Fees)
    c) Dissertation Fees
    d) Optional additional qualification fees
  • The last stage is visa and permit information. A student visa is mandatory for non-European Union citizens wishing to study in any European country for three months or longer. A student visa must be processed in your country of residence prior to your departure. The visa is affixed in your passport before you depart from your country and must be presented to immigration officials upon your entry into the country.
After arriving in the country, students have 30 days to apply for a Student Residence Permit. This must be renewed yearly. Due to the overwhelming demand for student visas, it is important that you start your process early to allow enough time for the consulate to process your request.
You must submit the following documentation: a) A passport valid for at least six months from the date of application
    b) Four recent passport-size pictures (stapled on to each copy of the application)
    c) An original letter addressed to the Spanish Consulate verifying enrolment as a full-time student at EU Business School in Spain and verification of payment of tuition. This must be a separate letter.
    d) A medical certificate, which should be typed on your doctor’s stationery, verifying that you are in good health, free of contagious diseases, drug addiction or mental illness. These items must be specified in the letter and signed by a medical doctor.
    e) A letter assuming full financial responsibility for tuition, room, and board during your stay in the country.
