@soumitrabengeri GE was based on small adv snippet from times magazine and we were asked to write about it for 3 mins and then discuss it as a case study...2 nd GD was on a topic they gave .. both were for about max 30 min in total . Interview was trivial with few questions on ur UG background and annexure based .There was extempore on the topic which was to be picked by each and we were given a minute to structure our thoughts.Interview panel are very friendly , they made me at ease from the moment i entered.(Opinions may differ )

The process of document verification and all is very smooth. So worry not. Enough time is given. Just take care not to forget any document.
GE process 1: A sheet was given on which there were 2 pictures (taken from Time magazine cover as it it looked). First one had cartoon on Manmohan singh written as 'The Messiah' and second one had written something like 'A terrible mistake' (something similar but largely in negative sense)
We were given 3 minutes to write down on the sheet. Then each one was asked to read what they had written. After this 8 minutes of discussion on these two varied pictures. Overall GD was good and the panel seemed to be largely satisfied as all contributed equally and no fish market. (I wonder why all were so patient in group to let others speak)
GE process 2: Direct topic was given. 'Indian Budget are more people oriented than economy'.
Again almost smooth GD where everyone contributed. 8-9 minutes down the line the group lacked points and same points were repeated. So panel asked to stop and done!!

p1 a person in late 40s or early 50s.
p2 a person in late 30s.
p2 : Lets start with something about yourself.
Me : said.
p2 : Tell me your work ex. Whats the name of your company?
Me : Told
p2 : Being from IT which platform do u work on?
Me : Oracle (he gave me a look as if he would have been happy if i would have told him some other platform which he knew).
p2 : Tell me you best professional achievement.
Me : responded confidently (so far good)
p2 : And whats your best academic achievement?
Me : I told about 10th standard scores.
P2 : So your performance declined after that?
Me : Not exactly. In 12th as well I had excellent scores in PCM. Being a science student focussed more on core subjects. My mistake to have neglected languages and so overall result is not exceptional.
P2 : Fav subject in 10 and 12?
Me : Maths
P2 : What is Pythagoras' therorem?
Me : Told
P2 : Area of equilateral triangle?
Me : Told
P2 : I will keep on asking till u falter. Formula for Momentum?
Me : Told
P2 : Formula for Kinetic Energy?
Me : (Wrong answer this time)
P2 smiled and said ok enough now. Relax.
P1 : Hobbies?
Me : Chess
P1 asked a bit on chess and I replied though not all answers were accurate.
P1 : what else in hobbies and activities?
Me : Explained about being co-ordinator for 3 day techfest in college and also being ISTE student chapter's College co-ordinator.
P2: So u politician kind. A student union leader?
Me : explained that it was not actually a kind of union shown in movies but a kind which was active to organize various technical and fun events in college. explained with examples and panel was satisfied.
P1; Other calls? List them in order of your priority.
Me : Did after thinking for 3-4 seconds.
Panels noted my answer with zero face expressions.
P1 : pick up the cheat from the bowl and read the topic.
The topic was 'Making mistakes is a way to learn'. 30 sec to think. 1 min to speak. This one was good and panel seemed to be very happy with extempore.

Just chill out guys. No such stress. Relax. If you dont know any answer just admit in PI. Just dont bluff.
For GD I would suggest to get along well with your group and talk with them when u meet them at the venue. This will make u guys comfortable and that comfort level will show in GD and probably you will be able to avoid fish market situation easily.
SIBM guys did an excellent job in helping and guiding us. Hats off to them!! They deserve a special applause.
Well, if a parent is accompanying?
Will they provide for them too? And are you pakka about the hostel facility?
@Ganashesh - Well ganesh deleted the old post. As i had misinterpreted it. Here is the info for you as I live in pune. No good hotels near SIBM. Also the best transport facility to reach SIBM is by bus provided by SIBM. Schedule and address mentioned on you call letter. Better, look for a hotel anywhere in center of pune and reach at the transport facility venue of SIBM. Not sure though if they will allow parent to be with you in the bus transport provided by SIBM. Can call the admissions committee number and check on this later part.

@NBD - 3 min. Thinking and writing should go in parallel. no extra time for thinking. wrote about 3 points. Dont try to bring good out handwriting as they made it clear before starting the first GD. Just keep ur pen mind going on! I tell u it wont be that difficult once u face the situation.

waise ek cheej bata...are they asking you to just mention the points as in 'bullet points' and frame sentences while speaking or we need to completely frame our sentences and write down on that sheet....just curious....

Had my GE/PI yesterday 12:15 Slot, below is the summary:
GE1: We were given a page which had the TIME magazine cover of 1991 which has a caricature of Manmohan Singh smiling and the title as “The Market Messiah” and another of the latest issue which has a caricature of a frowning Manmohan with the title Error Regretted! We were 3 minutes to write down our interpretation of the cartoon and read it out verbatim. Then the discussion started. The discussion lasted for around 10 minutes. Points about liberalizing the Indian Economy, why he cannot function effectively now due to coalition politics, Failure to provide safety for women, meek reactions to the recent Indo – Pak tensions were some of the points discussed. Do not know if it was good or bad.Immediately after the first ge was done, the same panel gave us a topic for the GE 2.
GE2: We were given the topic, “Indian budget has always been more people friendly than economy friendly”. 3 minutes to gather our thoughts and then the discussion began. Some of the points discussed were majority is spent on subsidies, the oil subsidies harm the OMCs, not enough is allocated towards the infrastructure development, manufacturing is not given enough allocation, India is a agrarian economy and stuff like that. Got a chance to contribute more here in terms of facts and figures.
Lunch was served after the discussion and the starting members starting heading out for the PI's where as the people at the end went for the verification of the xth and xiith mark sheet for the attribute profile score.

One sir from marketing and a lady.
Brief snapshot of the interview: The sir asked me a question from instrumentation; I said I do not know the answer. Then he looks at my cg and says, oh your performance is also not that good and asked the reason for it (xth 90 xiith 94 b.e. 55 :-X). Told him why it was so. Then madam said what if I repeat the same, I cited my recent workex where I have realized my mistake and have worked really hard and told her about some of my achievements at office. Sir asked me about my hobbies. I said I like playing and watching football. Fav club? Man Utd. 😁 questions on that coach, captain, any recent trophies etc. answered all. Madam asked me about the tools I have worked on. Told a name asked me a few questions answered them. They asked me if I had any questions asked them about marketing and if any tools will be taught during the course. A few questions about Aamir Khan (since i mentioned him as my role model in the annexure).Picked up a chit for my extempore : Good economics is good politics 1 min to think and speak for 1 minute.

They asked me about the changes i would make in him and why. nothing factual as such. most of the interview was based on my annexure.

Was that the case with almost everyone else? Are they concentrating more on your annexure?
