Admissions to undergraduate engineering courses available at various engineering colleges in Jharkhand is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Jharkhand has many institutes of repute like Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (XISS), Ranchi and Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur and NIT, Jamshedpur.

This year, admission to engineering colleges in Jharkhand is based on JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) 2016. The exam will be conducted in both online and pen and paper based format. The exam will assess students’ knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The 3 hours examination will have objective type questions and will consist of 50 questions each on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question will carry 1 mark each and there will be no negative marking for an incorrect answer.

The RVS College of Engineering & Technology is based in Jamshedpur. The college was started in 2004 by RVS Educational Trust. The institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Ranchi University.

The institute has all the necessary infrastructure like modern classrooms, labs, library, seminar halls, hostel facilities and transport facility. The institute conducts several events like extempore, technical tests and aptitude tests for the students.

The college has a training and placement cell to guide students during internships and final placements. It conducts mock interviews and personality development programmes for the benefit of the students.

The institute offers undergraduate programs in Civil engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics engineering, Electronics & Communication engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The student intake for various branches is –
