Admissions to undergraduate engineering courses available at various engineering colleges in Jharkhand is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Jharkhand has many institutes of repute like Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (XISS), Ranchi and Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur and NIT, Jamshedpur.

This year, admission to engineering colleges in Jharkhand is based on JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) 2016. The exam will be conducted in both online and pen and paper based format. The exam will assess students’ knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The 3 hours examination will have objective type questions and will consist of 50 questions each on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question will carry 1 mark each and there will be no negative marking for an incorrect answer.

In this particular article, let us take a look at the RamGovind Institute of Technology, Koderma.

The RamGovind Institute of Technology is based in Koderma. The institute was established in 2004 under MoU with the Government of Jharkhand and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The institute is affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh.

The institute is spread over 57 acre campus area and has all the necessary infrastructure like a labs, library, seminar halls, Wi-fi enabled campus and transport facility. The college has an anti-ragging committee for the benefit of the students.

The college has a training and placement cell to guide students during internships and final placements. It helps students through projects, seminars, guest faculty from various industries and any other Industry-Institute interfaces of which the students can be apart.

The institute offers undergraduate programs in Civil engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The departments of Civil engineering and Mechanical engineering conduct two shifts for the students. The student intake for various branches is –
