Kya kool hain hum…!!

“To err is to human”. “No one is perfect.” “We all make mistakes.” “We all have faults.”Each one of us has either said one of these lines on so many occasions or heard it somewhere by someone. True that we all have our follies, our weaknesses and flaws but there are some people among the lot who in spite of those flaws simply know and believe in one funda, rightly put by Kareena Kapoor aka “Geet” in “jab we Met”…”main toh apni favourite hoon!!”

Such attitude amazes me like anything not because I mistake it to be being arrogant or overconfidence but mostly because I lack such an attitude. One of such kinds is a close friend of mine, extremely lively, jovial, ”happy go lucky” kinda girl who just loves herself, her life and every part of her existence. She loves her freedom, she loves her chirpiness and she loves to be termed as a butterfly. Moreover so, I don’t mind or find it weird at all when she tells me,” I find myself soo pretty!”.Neither does she needs anyone’s flattery nor anyone’s praises. She smiles looking at herself in the mirror, mentally admiring herself, she pats herself whenever she does a good deed and she laughs her way around paying no heed to whatever the world says or thinks about her coz in her mind she knows that she’s the best!

She once told me, ”Unless you’re happy you won’t be able to achieve anything”. Her positivity is so infectious that at times the sulky me just can’t stop smiling and laughing when she’s around. Not that I always remain gloomy but I have my moments. Staying happy and always smiling is an art and not everyone is capable of it though people wish to be that way. At times optimism, positivity and “I don’t give a damn” attitude can make you come out of complex situations. It’s extremely essential to love ,appreciate and admire yourself before one can expect the same from others. Before trying or wishing that people should love you, love yourself. This is not being self-obsessed or self absorbed, this is a healthy and effective way which makes life and difficult circumstances easier and uncomplicated.
