Killing Time!

Though the news channels tell us how near is the doomsday; though we ourselves corrupted blame the corruption for all the bad; though the fear of everyday life pushes our religious sentiments further; though the competition seems ever increasing; Still the biggest of the hardships for people lie majorly in two things- managing their love-life and finding an ‘appropriate job’.

This stands specifically true for the ‘youth’- a term defined by the United Nations as persons between the ages of 15 and 24, and which actually accounts for about 20% of India’s population. Well, the love-life may have varied problems and all may have different ways of dealing with it, but the problem in finding an ‘appropriate job’ is as common as the man in India is.

First of all finding a job for yourself can be a great deal when the economy is losing its pace (a good excuse for anyone) and then the word ‘appropriate’ also plays a significant role when it looks into factors such as salary, sector, position, city and whole lot and what not!

So, what is the reason behind this and who needs to be blamed? These are the few questions which need an answer to start a debate on this. So, let’s start by blaming the government, then the economy, then one’s educational institute and finally one’s luck. Though these maybe some reasons but the main reason is hidden from most, which is the hobby of ‘killing time’ in our generation. In all fields there are few who are deep into studying(well, let’s leave them alone for time being, let them study…someone has to be the topper! No offence!), rest are mostly at rest. With the Facebook and WhatsApp era catching up, very few percentage of students indulge in constructive extra-curricular or try and learn new skills for industries and organisations. What one needs to fulfill his/her aspirations or dreams, is to understand what it takes to fulfill it, and at the very least it takes not to waste time. All you must think is the one minute you work more, two steps you get ahead- one against yourself and another against your competitor. So, ready steady go….!!
