The counting of ballots has been completed by the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) election committee. The student’s election result must not be notified until 17th September 2019 as per the Delhi High Court. The counting process took place with the condition that the trends of the last 150 votes for central panel and final 50 votes of the councillor will not be released in public.

The turnout of the candidates for the entire voting process was 67.9%. This is the highest turn out rate in the last seven years.

The parties competing in this election are All India Students’ Association (AISA), Students’ Federation of India (SFI), Democratic Students’ Federation (DSF) and All India Students’ Federation (AISF) in an alliance.
