INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DIGITAL MARKETING

Life at IMI is always studded with a diverse array of activities. Just a few days ago the campus had been awash in the tricolor for the Republic Day Celebrations. On 29th Jan 2016, the campus donned another avatar, this time focusing on the ever important realm of research. The International Conference on Innovative Brand building through Digital Marketing kick started today with the doctoral colloquium inauguration ceremony. The occasion was graced by the Director General, IMI, Dr. Bakul Dholakia, Dean Executive education and international affairs, Dr. Abhishek Nirjhar and Professor DK Batra. The ceremony officially opened the conference which would continue over the next two days.

The doctoral colloquium on 29th January is an appetizer for the conference that starts tomorrow. The colloquium has three parts; it is a platform for authors to present both their research papers and their working papers before the committee where the best papers will be awarded. The third part is a workshop for doctoral scholars in the field of research methodology and analysis.

While it is a fact that MBA is about hands-on experience and practical knowledge, it is an undeniable fact that knowledge has to be supplemented by a healthy dose of research which helps us understand the possible factors and attributes of current trends. The theme of the conference is Digital Marketing and Brand building, which strikes at the heart of the contemporary trend of disruptive businesses that are harnessing this non-traditional medium for leverage.

Life at IMI is always contemporary, churn of ideas. At any point of time there are activities from league sports matches to intra college academic challenges. This conference thus forms a part of the life of an IMIian. As the pre-conference day drew to an end, the students looked forward to the next two days to be spent with brands, digital media and online behavior. It promises to be a truly insightful experience.
