The ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) has announced that all answer scripts of the CA Intermediate and Foundation level exams from now on will be digitally evaluated to avoid disparity in marks by various examiners and to get rid of the scope of totalling errors.
In a notification released on 21st September 2019, the Institute urged the students not to be misled and swayed by any trade and assured that the Institute stands committed to fulfilling the genuine concerns.
ICAI release has said that it has been bought to the notice that specific adverse reports relating to the system of evaluation of the answer books of CA exams are doing the round on social media. With this taken into consideration and connection, the following reforms which has been put in the place recently are brought to the focus of the of ICAI exam system.
The Institute has also decided to bring in OMR based evaluation of the final new course. In the exam conducted on May 2019, multiple choice type questions for 30 marks have been introduced in select papers of Intermediate and Final exams.
The Institute has also decided to introduce OMR evaluation for MCQ’s of elective papers 6A to 6F of the final new course with effect from November 2019 which are machine processed thus avoiding subjectivity. The official website for ICAI is https://www.icai.org/.
The Institute has mentioned on its notification that the evaluators have to go through an online test gap for 3 years. All applicants short-listed for empanelment as examiners have to qualify an online test in the matter of their option before inclusion of their names in the team of examiners.
All the existing examiners would also be required to undergo an online test in the respective subjects once in 3 years.
