1. Sangakkara created history in ICC World Cup

i. Kumar Sangakkara, today created a history in 2015 ICC World Cup tournament by hitting a record fourth consecutive ODI centuries in a row. He became the first batsman in history of One – Day Internationals to score centuries in four consecutive innings. 

ii. He achieve this feat by scoring 124 runs against
Scotland in the Pool A match of the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Hobart, New
Zealand.

iii. Earlier Sangakkara scored three centuries which includes; 105 runs against Bangladesh, 117 runs  not out against England and 104 runs against Australia.

iv. Till now he scored total 25 centuries in ODI
matches.

v. With the help of Sangakara and Tillakaratne
Dilshan hundred Sri Lanka set a huge total of 363/9 against Scotland.

vi. Sri Lanka won the match by 148 runs as Scotland team all out at 215 runs in 43.1 overs.

2. India and Seychelles sign 4 agreements

i.Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, visited Seychelles on the first leg of his three-nation tour, where both the nations signed four agreements to boost security and maritime
partnership. 

ii. Four pacts signed between
two countries which includes; cooperation in hydrography, renewable energy, infrastructure
development and sale of navigation charts and electronic navigational charts.

iii. During visit PM Modi, announced that India will give a second Dornier aircraft to the country and launched the
Coastal Surveillance Radar Project, describing it as another symbol of the cooperation
between the two countries.

3. IMF
increased India growth forecast to 7.2% for current fiscal

i. International Monetary Fund (IMF) today ups India growth
forecast to 7.2% for the current fiscal.

ii. Last year, IMF had projected the India growth rate of 5.6 per
cent for the current fiscal, and 6.4 per cent for the next.

iii. The new forecasts have taken into account a revised
methodology adopted by India earlier this year for calculating the GDP figures,
about which IMF said that the country has “improved the way it measures
economic output”.

4. LIC to help Indian Railways in development projects

i. Life
Insurance Corporation of India, LIC will invest Rs 1.5 Lakh crore in Indian
Railways over next 5 years for development of various commercially viable
projects.

ii. According to the Finance Minister Arun
Jaitley, LIC has taken the task of supporting Indian Railways and it is a
commercial decision.

iii. The investment would be done in bonds issued
by various railway entities such as Indian Railways Finance Corporation,
beginning next fiscal.

iv.  An
MoU was signed in this regard in the presence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley
and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

v. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu
said the repayment will be made to LIC in 30 years.

5. UAE to host AFC
Asian Cup in 2019

i. United Arab Emirates has won the bid to host
the 17th edition of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup in 2019.

ii.  AFC
Asian Cup is an international football tournament which is organised by the Asian
Football Confederation (AFC).

iii. The tournament will be held in three cities
of UAE; Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al-Ain.

iv. Earlier, UAE hosted the  AFC Asian Cup in 1996, and this will be the
second time when UAE will host the tournament in 2019.

6. Three French sports
personalities died in a helicopter crash in Argentina

i. Three French sports personalities are among 10 people killed in a
helicopter crash in Argentina today.

ii. The incident took place when the two helicopters collided during filming
near Villa Castelli, about 1,170km (720 miles) from Buenos Aires, according to
local officials.

iii. In the accident three sports personalities of France died which included
the famed sailor Florence
Arthaud
, who in 1990 broke the record for crossing the North Atlantic
alone; the swimmer Camille Muffat,
who won three medals at the 2012 Olympics in London; and the boxer Alexis Vastine, who won a bronze medal
at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
