CBSE Board Exam 2020 Passing Marks

With the board examinations for class 10th and 12th to be conducted by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) coming up soon, students and their teachers are leaving no stone unturned for the preparations. CBSE has not yet announced the date sheet for the board exams 2020, but the students are eagerly waiting for an update and browsing the internet for the same.

As a result, many rumours start doing rounds which are not at all correct. As per the latest media reports, CBSE date sheet for board exams 2020 will be released in December, but there has been no such update posted on the official website of CBSE. Moreover, the chairperson for the Central Board of Secondary Education, Ms Anita Karwal has refuted these media reports and specified that the date sheet for the CBSE Board Exams for Class 10th and 12th would be released no sooner than January 2020.

She further added that most probably, the CBSE date sheet will be released in the first week of January 2020. It will be released on the official website of CBSE and will be available for download of the students. Students need to log-on to the official website of CBSE @ www.cbse.nic.in and download the date sheet in PDF format.

CBSE Class 12th Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2020

Last year, CBSE had preponed the board exams from the first week of March 2019 to  21st February 2019. This year also, the board exams for class 10th and 12th will commence from February 2020. The particular date and time of the  exams will be available in the date sheet when it is released in the month of January 2020.

Recently, CBSE had released the date sheet for the practical examinations for the Class 10th and 12th Board examinations. The date sheet has been uploaded on the official website of CBSE and can be downloaded by the students. The practical examinations will commence from 1st January 2020 and will end on 7th February 2020.

Moreover, CBSE has also released a notification regarding revision in the assessment format for the various subject in 10th and 12th board exams. As per the notification, the assessment will comprise of three components, i.e. written exam, practical and internal examination.

The total marks will be divided amongst these assessment criteria wherein theory will account for 80% and practical will account for 20% of the total marks. In order to be declared pass in a particular subject, the student must score at least 33% marks in each component.

Moreover, as per CBSE, the course curriculum for the Board Exams 2020 will not be entirely from the NCERT textbooks. In fact, the board has released its own syllabus which must be prepared for by the students while preparing for the board exams 2020. The syllabus is also available for download on the official website of CBSE @ www.cbse.nic.in.
