“Am going to recover fast to attend all IIM PIs,” says CAT topper Ravi Teja in hospital after serious accident

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 topper Ravi Teja Palla is getting better and recuperating fast in a private hospital in Andhra Pradesh. Ravi had met with a dangerous accident on Tuesday night.

PaGaLGuY.com managed to track down Ravi in the ICU of Seven Hills Hospital in Vishakhapatnam. Just as we called, Ravi was being transferred to a private room.

Ravi spoke to us over the phone. While his voice was softer (than when we spoke to him on the CAT results day), there was grit in it. “I am injured but I will come back in time to attend the interviews. Most of the IIM dates are manageable. The only issue I see at this point is with IIM Ahmedabad but that is also a few days away. I will be up and about by then,” Ravi said.

With multiple fractures in his rib cage, it was surprising that Ravi even managed to speak to us. The patient added that he and four of his friends were out celebrating his CAT success on Bheemili beach in Vizag. “When we were returning home, my friend who was driving the car lost control at a lamp post,” Ravi informed.

According to media reports , the car lost control at a steep turning on the road. People familiar with the place told PaGaLGuY that the road, which run fairly straight, suddenly juts out to make a sharp curve and then regains a stright direction again. That is the place people tend to lose control of the vehicle.

Ravis friends are in the same hospital as him and also recovering.

Bheemili beach is a favourite spot for youngsters in Vizag. It is laced with pubs and quite a buzzing place in the evenings.

Lets wish Ravi a speedy recovery and that he comes back in time to make it to all the IIM calls – something for which he has worked very hard.
