Analyzing national and international job advertisements, one can identify that majority of the middle and senior level positions require, “MBA or other Post Grad degrees”

An annual survey of leading employers indicates that corporate demand for MBA graduates is going high. In this highly competitive global market, banks, business establishments, financial organizations, consultancy firms, medias, IT & ITES, education, hospitality, healthcare, retails, aviation, defence technology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, insurances, telecoms, automotive, real-estates, analytics firms, fashion technology; all require skilled professionals.

Hence, management graduates are in a high demand. A survey found that 75% of the companies plan to hire MBAs this year, up from the 71% that recruited MBAs in 2012. These employers are expecting to recruit 15 MBA graduates on average, up from 11 that were hired last year (FT, May 2013).

Statistics show that a majority of the business schools are not satisfying the needs of employers with proper skilled work force. The companies require all-rounded business leaders who have outstanding managerial and technical abilities that can add value by capitalizing on opportunities, setting directions, motivating people and delivering results.

No single program can dramatically alter an individual’s career path like a good MBA program.

It is imperative to learn the management skills for personal and professional growth. Individuals coupled with good personality and intellect, honing persuasiveness and communication skills with a good MBA will always assist in moving up the ladder. In the end, a person who does not have abilities as per the job role will not be able to sustain longer.

If you are planning to join an MBA program, you need to set goals to gain the knowledge and improvise your personal skills – that will propel you forward, make you accountable and will transform you to success.

Once the new graduates of the Harvard MBA program were asked: Have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?

84% percent responded that they had no specific goals at all. 13% had goals but they were not committed to paper. Only 3% had clear, written goals and plans to accomplish them. Your goals should show you’re determined and motivated to succeed.

An MBA is an accelerator. You have to have basic leadership traits, strategic / analytical thinking, problem solving and communication, people management skills. A strong passion to drive and deal with the real-life challenges that as a leader to face challenges in the future.

A good MBA program will help to build conceptual constructs, enable to think through complex business situations and developing an intelligence quotient on various business functions to make balanced decisions. Working with a team, learning about conflict resolution, or taking the lead in projects, assignments, case studies, workshops, seminars, presentations, role plays, discussions – all present in real business situations – are frequent elements in MBA courses.
