Union Public Service Commission Geologist Exam is conducted in three stages which are written examination, Interview and personality test and document verification.

The written examination consists of five papers as the examination is conducted for various posts under two categories. All the subjects in the written examination will be of conventional type with English language question papers. Candidates competing for choice to the posts of Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and Junior Hydrogeologist are going to be required to appear in all the subjects mentioned against respective category below. Candidates competing for variety for both the posts of Geologist and Jr. Hydrogeologist will be obligatory to appear in all the subjects revealed against Categories. If any candidate doesn’t appear in any one or more of mentioned papers, meant for written examination for selection to the post of Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist, their candidature shall stand excluded and part of written examination appeared by them will not be evaluated and counted for any purpose.
