Jaipur National University, Jaipur,came into existence on October 22, 2007 through an Ordinance of the Government of Rajasthan, In 2008, after thorough inspection by an expert panel of UGC members, the University was accorded approval under Section 2(f).

With more than 7000 students and around 600 faculty members, the University is offering Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes in streams, like Engineering, Pharmacy, Life and Basic Sciences, Business Management, Education, Law, Mass Media, Hotel Management, Computer and System Sciences, English Language, Social Work, Nursing, Medical and Para-Medical Courses.

All the technical and professional programmes are approved by various regulatory bodies - AICTE, NCTE, BCI, INC, PCI, MCI. The University is the First Private University of Rajasthan to be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), based on a very comprehensive evaluation and accreditation only after 7 years of its establishment.

JaipurNationalUniversity in association with National Academy of Sciences, India successfully organised a two day “Nutrition Awareness Programme” on Nov. 19-20, 2019 at Rajkiya Madhyamik Vidyalaya , Jaipur which benefited more than 200 school students. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among young students about the importance of hygiene through awareness of macronutrients and micronutrients in the diet. Prof. HN Verma (VC, JNU) in his speech highlighted the significance of nutritional values among students as well as the important role played by the National Academy of Sciences. Moreover, under this several initiatives like quiz competition, chart presentation, etc. were taken to aware the students about nutritional values.

8th March is internationally celebrated as the "International Women's Day". It is an important occasion for all of us to pause for a moment to reflect on ourselves, to appreciate how much has been done and what more needs to be done to bring gender equality. School of Education, Jaipur National University organized various Inter University/ College competitions from 8th March to 13th March. Dr Meenu Singh coordinated this programme. 77 students of various schools of JNU and from different Universities participated in this programme. The programme began with the lighting of lamp by the Director, Prof. Kamla Vashisth, followed by the inaugural speech. The first day programme, started with enthusiasm on the presentations of Safety App for women.

Students of Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur National University, had an enriching experience with Akshay Patra Sansthan, an initiative of Hare Krishna Movement which conducted 2 hours seminar on Art of Mind Control. The Seedling School of Law and Governance Moot Court Hall was filled to brim with bubbling students fascinated by Ananta Shesha Das's presentation for Knowledge Imparting Program. The presentation focused on how can one understand his mind and improve its ability to operate better. Ananta Das used practical experiments on stage to teach using volunteers from the attendees. He talked about the importance of Bhagwat Gita in our day to day life for all. Thereafter the principle introduced the speaker with presenting bouquet. After the introduction, the mic was handover to the speaker. He started his introduction with Bhagwat Gita prayer where students were joined with the same. He showed beautiful video on how to control the mind and emphasize on the importance of mind control.

Jaipur National University provides opportunity for school students  by conducting experimental activity. Students were taught Cell  division in plants. Where they were made aware of the fundamentals of equational division, students  saw  the different stages of mitosis under microscope with the help of permanent slides  and they learnt the characteristic features of each sub-stage of mitosis.

Thereafter students were shown a basic laboratory procedure where they can prepare slide for mitosis stage from onion root tips, where cells remain in active, dividing stages. Students learnt the procedure, prepared the slide and enjoyed observing the sub-stages of mitosis under microscope in their prepared slides. The activity was conducted  by Dr. Mithilesh Kumar , School of Life Sciences .

School of Agricultural Sciences started 4- year BSc.(Ag.) Hons. degree course and is well equipped with smart classes, modern laboratories, library, adequate agricultural farm and it provides excellent opportunity to the students with latest technologies, exposure visits, field trials for various crops and all desired laboratory practical including soil health card.

Four Year B. Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) professional degree program is running in Jaipur National University, Jaipur. This degree consists of 08 semesters (04 years duration). Subjects viz Agronomy, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Environment Science, Horticulture, Animal Science, Fisheries, Biochemistry, Nematology, Microbiology, Agricultural Engineering, Agricutural Economics and Statistics as recommended by 5th Dean Committee of Indian Council of Agricultual Research (ICAR, an Apex body) are being taught in JNU. School of Education organized a Ph.D workshop on Research Methodology from 10th to 16th Oct., 2019. It was attended by post- graduate, Doctoral students and faculty members. The resource person Prof. D. N. Sansanwal, former Dean (Education), Devi Ahilya Bai University, Indore and Ex-Chairperson Northern Regional Committee, National Council of Teacher Education focused on the following themes:-

• Research designs  in qualitative research.
• Research designs in quantitative research.
• Data analysis: Descriptive Statistics.
• Data analysis: Inferential Statistics.

The resource person Prof. Sansanwal through various examples illustrated research methods. The research workshop helped in achieving the objectives of development of visualization and conduct of research. It also helped in the development of research acumen through critical analysis, discussion and seminar presentation.

JNU Jaipur celebrated its glorious 12 year long journey on Oct 22, 2019. Jaipur National University welcomed Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan to grace the occasion with his kind presence at Umeed 1000 Cyclothon 2019. It was a pleasant moment for all of us to be a part of this magnificent fundraiser event supporting girl child education. 40 cyclists reached JNU and  were greeted  by Shri Kalraj Mishra and Hon'ble Chancellor, Dr. Sandeep Bakshi. He said that for educating girl child and creating awareness for this social cause, active participation of  society is needed.

JNU Jaipur Provides a platform to its employees for enhancing and upgrading their knowledge which ultimately can be delivered to the students.
Soft Material Research Society and University of Rajasthan has organized a National Conference on “Nanomaterials in Biology (NCNB 2019)” during 9-12 October 2019 in Pink City Jaipur with one day workshop on Microscopic Techniques. Multi-disciplinary group of leading Plenary and Speakers were invited  from all over India to promote and enhance recent achievements in the field of nanomaterials in Biology. Dr. Shalini Pareek from School of Life Sciences  presented  work of her MSc. project students, Ms. Lekhani Vyas and Ms. Neetu Yadav, in the form of flash talk and poster entitled “Comparative effect of green synthesized silver nanoparticles on legume and non-legume seeds to ameliorate cadmium toxicity during germination.

The International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8 by the Women's Cell of the University. Last year it was organized by the School of Education in collaboration with the Council for Teacher Education (CTE), to address the issues of women's oppression and gender inequality and to inspire women for healthier change. The School also organized a panel discussion on Education and Women Empowerment.

On this occasion, three women icons were felicitated for their outstanding contributions in the area of well-being of women. Dr. Preeti Bakshi, Executive, Director, Jaipur National University was felicitated with the Most Empowered Lady Award, under the banner of CTE, Rajasthan Chapter, by Prof. Kamla Vashisth, Director, SOE, Jaipur National University. Addressing the gathering of more than 200 women, Dr. Preeti Bakshi said that we need to change our mindset as we are living with a crippling one.

"Don't allow any chain to bind you, break every chain and believe in yourself. That is the way to full success."

Prof. Asha Kaushik, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, was honoured by Dr. Sandeep Bakshi, Chancellor, Jaipur National University. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Kaushik said that the issues of women are social and need joint efforts by both men and women for redressal.
