RPF 2018 Exam Pattern

Central Recruitment Committee conducts the exam in three stages viz,

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT),
  2. Physical Efficiency Test(PET) & Physical Measurement Test(PMT),
  3. Document Verification (DV).

  1. Computer Based Test
  • Among 15 languages, the candidate has to select any one.
  • The exam is based on MCQ type.
  • Each question carries 1 mark and for wrong answers, 1/3 marks will be reduced. For the unanswered question, there is no mark.
  • There will be 120 questions split up under three sections and the duration is 90 minutes.

  1. Physical Efficiency Test & Physical Measurement Test
  • There are no marks allotted for this test.
  • Depending on the merit list from Computer Based Test and eligibility criteria, candidates are called for PET & PMT.
  • Ex-serviceman may appear only for PMT. PET is not necessary for him.
  • In Physical Efficiency Test, 1600m running for male candidates, 800m running for female candidates, long jump and high jump are kept as qualifying criteria.

Points to be noted while preparing

  • In the case of CBT, taking certain mock test and going through last year question paper can help perform better.
  • Most of the people fell difficult to keep up the timing and this could be overcome by practicing the questions on a daily
  • For general awareness part, one must keep himself updated about the current affairs. It can be carried out daily as a part of mental
  • For the arithmetic part, solving more number of questions will help. There are many online websites to take mock tests.
  • By taking more tests one should analyze his strength and weakness so that time management can be done effectively.
  • Taking notes of the important points may help to revise the subjects in the last minute.
  • Important formulas must be revised on daily basis.
  • Proper selection of books is mandatory for a clear-cut preparation since there is a vast number of books available in the market.
  • For PET, constant practice Keeping oneself fit by doing exercise. Following it as a routine will nourish the body with full energy.
  • Apart from this, concentrating on what we eat is the main part. Being an RPF aspirant one must take great care about his health.
  • Before all these stuff one should have sound mental health to ensure physical fitness.

To avoid last-minute confusion all the required documents must be made ready in the proper format. So it will be good to collect the format from the notification part and make the get them ready before preparing for the exam.
