This decision is taken to mark the 550th birth anniversary of the founder Sikhism, Guru Nanak as per the public notice. As per the authorized or official notification released by the PSEB, it is said that “the students who cleared the exams and the students who could not pass the exams, (the students who cleared the exam) but now wish to improve the score can avail the golden opportunity of appearing in exams again”.

The Punjab Democratic Teachers front has strongly condemned the move of PSEB stating that the board was fund-starved and trying to hoist money from people to run its functions.

While speaking to the secretary-general Devinder Punia he said: “it is sheer commercialization with the Government of state not extending any financial aid to the board and department, and PSEB is trying to raise money from poor students for allowing them to reappear in the exams”.
