KEAM 2023 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for KEAM 2023 will be released by CEE, Kerala at its official website. For 2023, the information brochure, exam pattern and syllabus released on February 18, 2023. KEAM 2023 will be conducted via offline, an OMR sheet will be provided for marking the answers. This test will comprise of 2 papers- Paper-I, Physics & Chemistry and Paper-II, Mathematics and it will be conducted in 2 days. The candidates applied for B.Pharm must appear for Paper I only. The standard of this test will be of Higher Secondary or equivalent exam.

The exam questions will be of objective type with 5 alternative potions. Both the papers will be conducted in English language only. 4 marks will be conducted for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted as a negative mark for each wrong answer. If 2 options were marked for a single question in OMR sheet, there will be a penalty of 1 mark charged. No mark will be deducted for unmarked questions. Following is the exam pattern for KEAM 2023:

In order to qualify for the engineering exam, a minimum of 10 marks in each paper is needed for the candidates to have their names in the merit list. The candidates who cannot secure minimum stipulated marks will not be qualified and also will not be short-listed for the admission to the respective course. It is also important to note that the candidates who fail to answer a single question in each paper will be automatically disqualified and ineligible for further rounds. The candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be exempted from the above-mentioned rule and there won’t be any minimum requirement of marks in KEAM 2023 for such candidates.

Preparation tips for KEAM 2023:

  • Make your basics clear: To have a clear knowledge about the basics is very important. The syllabus of 11 and 12 standards will contribute to 45-55% of the KEAM 2023 question paper.
  • Time management: First time KEAM takers must prepare a proper timetable for their studies on a daily basis. Next, it is important to maintain equal time to prepare for the entire syllabus equally. It is also advisable to take a short break regularly between studies.
  • Knowledge of syllabus: the first thing to be aware of is to have complete knowledge about the syllabus, before starting the preparation. The syllabus for KEAM medical entrance is similar to that of AIIMS medical examination. The candidates who applied for Engineering courses must prepare Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics topics of 11 and 12 standard of Kerala Board.
  • Do not waste time: The candidates must not waste time concentrating on a single topic. For the candidates who are the student of Kerala Board will find it easy for completing the syllabus. The candidates belonging to other boards must put a bit of extra effort in completing the syllabus.
  • Previous year question papers: The candidates are advised to take a look at the previous year’s question papers to get proper knowledge about the exam questions. Note the important topics and syllabus.
  • Stay cool: Avoid waking the late night before and during exams. This will create stress and tiredness in the candidates and this will affect their preparation for further exams also.
