Supernumerary seats

When there is number of candidates with the similar category wise rank opting for the same program under the same institute then the institute can add extra seats in that particular course. Those are called supernumerary seats. Most of the time the foreign candidates will be allotted such kind of seats since they enter the counseling process only after finishing the counseling process of native people. Apart from foreign candidates, in order to create gender balance in the year of 2018, nearly 800 supernumerary seats were allotted for the female candidates. As per norms, the total seats cannot exceed 10% of the total available seats.

But even for getting through supernumerary seats, the candidate must score minimum cut off and must have secured minimum rank to enter into the counseling process.

Mr.Pranav Goyal topped JEE Advanced 2018 and he scored 337/360 in the exam.
